I am being asked to call this number from a voicemail about a claim being filed against me.

I got a message from this company and they said they are Centennial Services.  I called them back, was told it was a collection for a Holiday Cash loan.  I told them I never took out said loan, they said it was for $500 and now I am due to pay $1026.  I said no, no such loan was ever taken out.  They told me it was deposited into my Chase account on 2/13/15 for $500.  Again I said no, I'm looking right at my statement.  They had my parents names as references, and I straight out said DO NOT CALL them.  And she said fine, we won't call, and we will escalate this and then started all the threatening jargon, and hung up on me.  I tried calling them back 8 times and got a busy signal and the last time I called I got put through to their general voice mail and the name of the company said Capital Management.  This is CLEARLY a scam and they will continue to call and try to harass people into paying bogus loans.  Don't fall for it.  It's a complete scam.

Received call on husband's phone to call back about a claim.  Needs verification of address and employer.  Said this called served as notice.  I have no idea.  I have 2 credit cards with balances that it.

Scam! Real process servers don't call in advance. Block and ignore such calls if you can.

I just got the same call!! It scares me, and I know it shouldn't.

One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them so that they can scare that person into paying extortion money.  They will usually also state information that would be illegal for a real debt collector to state to department and tell them that you are a deadbeat who does not pay their bills.  They often call people that have never even been a third party such as that you are being sued, that you owe money to someone, etc. They threaten that if you do not call them back, they will contact your HR associated with you because they get erroneous information off the internet.

The fake process server/location finder extortion SCAM usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

The same information that everyone else is reporting above that there is a claim file against me and I need to call 855 603 0475 immediately this is so irritating and they call like every day or every other day

Calling about a claim being filed against me. Asking for my home address and work address to drop off documents. Wouldn't say the company name. Is a recorded message.

I as well. They said i got 700 in a loan n keep calling to harass but my bank for 5 yrs shows I never received a loan n then they hang up on you.

Called from a local number and left a 855-603-0475 return  call number. they have called several times and finally left a voicemail. Did not respond I guess they will come and drop off at home lol

I have the same voice mail. The message told me exactly as the others were getting. I tried to call them and they told me it was about a cash loan that I took. They can't tell me which loan shark it was from.

I received a call from this number as well. They said they are going to send the proper documentation to my address or something. I wish I knew the name of the company so that way I can sue them. Anyone know the name of the company?

I got the same call. they have called multiple times telling me i owe 500 and they need to be done in payments of 250 and said they tried to go to my mom's house then to my bio dads house but i was nowhere to be found. i spoke with the yesterday and they said if i didn't make a payment by Friday the 21st they were going to proceed and take me to court. i argued with this guy for a while then told me "what the hell are you doing arguing with him" and ended the phone call. have gotten 2 more calls this morning.

they told me the same thing..."we are going to verify your home address and place of employment and proceed with further action". i get the call a few times a week. its annoying. i block the number and they call from a different one
