Yep.  they use the "process server" to scare you into calling another number and paying extortion money.

Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

This number has called me and now my parents and my work as early as 8 am and as late as 9pm daily saying if I don't call a number out of Pennsylvania to get a debt handled she will be filing charges against me with the sheriff at 9am. She leaves the same message daily. It's freaking me out but when I called them out on it saying this seems phony she got very angry and said don't believe everything you read on line. This person never told me what company they worked for and I tried call in them and no one ever answered. They are also callin from a number that has a local area code, I'm assuming it's a spoofed number. I've asked for documents and was told call the other numbers then call them back. It all just seems like a scam

Yes, it definitely looks like a scam.  You do not have to beg for validation notices.  By law, the caller is supposed to send them automatically.

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

    Source:
    https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit  the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:
    http://www.consumerfinance.gov/blog/debtcollection/

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

It's a scam.  Legal debt collectors cannot make threats like that.  Try to get the name of the company and an address.  I doubt they will give it to you.  Report them to the attorney general.

    TooManySpamCalls
Called originated from a different number, probably an unsuspecting victim. Left a voicemail message "This message is intended for .... my name is veronica stewart of state filing and legal services,,,,goes into urgent about a case... call back at 855-607-5359".

It's a scam. They use different numbers, sometimes local to your area, and then ask you to call back to 855-607-5359.

How can we determine the registered owner of the 855 number?

    A Different Mr. T
Scam Scam Scam.  They left a message from a local Oregon number stating it was a matter concerning my ex-wife whom I divorced 32 years ago.  LOL.  Where do these idiots get their information?  Anyway I called them trying to play along an get more info but I didn't get anything useful.  So if you get or already got a message, know it is a scam and call them back.  Play along.  Try to get some useful info that could be used as evidence against them.
