- Cat womanGot a call today from an Arthur Clayton of Jarves and Clayton law offices. Supposedly they were hired to sue me for something but when I google them I find nothing. It was from this number and they called me at work . Said something about a bounced check but I don't have any such thing. I think it is a scam.

- J W| 20 repliesI got a phone call from a process server from my county named Kathryn Vaughn stating that she was calling to let me know that she would be at my house or work tomorrow and to serve me court papers and that if I had any questions or needed to reschedule I could call Jarvis and Cohen from 855-620-1745 ext. 478. She said that if I am not there during he time she would be serving me the papers that I would Fail to Appear. I have no idea what this is about but I did some research and I don't have any pending cases in my county and my county doesn't even have a process servicing division. I am not sure but do they even call you before they send you a summons? Isn't Failure to Appear a Criminal Court thing? I have no criminal record and have had some experience with the courts and law because I am a Social Worker. If I was being charged with criminal allegations wouldn't the police have been contacting me? I have not done anything illegal. I am just so confused what this is all about but it makes me feel better to read other posts because it sounds like this call may be a scam.

- sara replies to J W| 12 repliesProbably would be a good idea to call the company instead of writing remarks on a google page .Where people can say whatever they feel like . There is no valid truth to the ridiculous assumptions people make on here. Bottom line the reason they are calling is a result of something you did!! ..So be a responsible adult and take care of it .... Its very funny that you people think everything is a scam . The only thing that is a true scam is the fact of you defrauding banking institutions .Check out the legal firms website that is what they do !! instead of chatting it up on google .Why dont you actually look up some valid info!

- collectors-r-criminals replies to saraActually this site is where we can each other about scammers, including collectors who don't know the laws that regulate their activity any better they know the meaning of terms like "defrauded".
The fact is, your post is ample evidence why your potential victims should NOT call you back and thereby run the risk of becoming your actual victims.
It's funny you think that when your illegal behavior doesn't yield enough revenue on the phone, that spewing on sites like this will work. - amelia| 2 repliesi received a call from Jarves and Cohen last week stating i owed a payday loan from 2009. At first i was very reluctant to discuss any thing with them until i received written documentation. The representative that i spoke with was very forthcoming with all info i received written documentation within 2 hours. as any concered customer should i checked both my credit report and contacted the original debt owner and i did owe the money. Just because you dont like 'bill collectors" doesnt mean there all scam artists or criminals. If you owe the money pay it!!!
- Caller: jarves
- shillalert replies to ameliaWow you scammers must sure be desperate, this site must sure be making it hard for you to trick people out of money on the phone!
- Unknown DudeThis is a scam. It is against the law for an attorney or anyone claiming to represent and attorney to contact you over a debt of *any* kind. If it was a true claim, papers would be filed through the local system and you would be served by your constable or other representative.
They use scare tactics to try to get you to pay them some quick money to make everything thing go away or else they'll threaten you with jail time, or even in extreme circumstances, they'll even threaten violence.
Things to do and not do:
Do some background research on the people who claim you owe them money. A quick Google search can be a very telling thing. Don't be afraid to use it.
Never, ever, under any circumstance give out any personal information to these people. That includes social security number, phone numbers, address, etc. If you truly had any dealings with these people they would already have this information and wouldn't need to get it from you.
Contact your states Attorney General and make a claim or fraud report. Most states, this can be done online.
Contact the FTC and make a report. This can also be done quickly and easily online. - Orygun AvengerI got a message on my cell phone from a Natasha Graves (if that is her real name) with Jarvis & Cohen. Where i was told that myself or my legal council need to respond within 72 hrs. OR charges of BANK FRAUD would be filed against my name and SSN. OK, what is my name and SSN, Ms. Graves? So, I contacted my state AG and filed a complaint. As well as calling the number back and challenging these low life leeches to call me back. I don't think they have the balls to do anything like that. But, i do have the number and two can play that game...Toll free number? Hmmm? let's play...Ha Ha..By the way if you search the I-net for Jarvis & Cohen you won't have much luck as J&C doesn't exist as far as I can tell. So, who's the fraud here? AND Michelle Washington's voice who is in J&C's "Litigation Dept."
(how cute) sure sounds a lot like Natasha Graves voice. I guess this type of work is easier then selling your ass on the street, isn't it Ms Graves or Washington or whoever you want to be today...Yes, i am a bit salty, as i loath people like this, and wish them everything bad for their pathetic lives...- Caller: Jarvis & Cohen

- Not Me| 5 repliesI received a call from Emily Franklin, extension 494, of the law firm of Jarvis & Cohen. My family name happen to be the same as the person they were looking for except that person does not live in our home. They said a lawsuit was being filed with the LA County and they had her name and SSN, which if they did how would they not have her correct phone number?
After reading the previous posts, it appears this may be a scam. If it is legitimate, the law firm is getting a bum rap! or not- Caller: Jarvis and Cohen
- AMUSED| 2 repliesI wish I could be there to see the look on your faces when you receive your subpoenas!!!!!
- Mii replies to sara| 2 repliesI see you also put a comment on here so that tells me you have nothing better to do with your time than to comment on other peoples concerns. If you are not commenting on here for the same reason then why are you.
- Mii replies to ameliaThen you should have paid it long time ago. You prob work for the company and putting this up here as another tactic.
- Carrie| 1 replyA guy Named Arthur Clayton called once, said he was from the lawfirm of Jarvis & Cohen regarding correspondence....then he didn't speak and I could hear background noises what sounded like telemarketers, then the call ended. He called back again 30 seconds later left another voice message saying the same thing and that I had 72 hours to respond before legal action was filed at my county court house (no doubt he had to look that info up before he called back because he didn't have the stuff on him the first time he called). Wanted me to call back 855-620-1745 ext 471 and reference file number 340784.
I googled the law firm name, site looked "professional" but was still under construction so the links did not work.- Caller: Jarvis & Cohen
