    This number called my mothers' phone asking for my deceased step father. I called the number to verify who this is and the lady was extremely rude and refused to tell me what type of business she had calling my mothers house.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    Just got a call on my cell phone from an unknown number asking for my HR department.  She said she wanted to ask what my companies policy was on serving a summons.  I asked her who it was for and she said me.  I then asked her what company the summons was for and she said Pro Management Corp and gave me the number of 855-623-3530 to call back.  she said she needed a release order form so that the summons could be stopped.

    received a call at 1600 today from a woman claiming there was restitution monies owed for a Breach of Contract..HAHAHA
    She gave a name, but didn't say if it was Jr. or Sr. she wanted either...gave me some BS "claim" number to reference.

    EVERYONE:

    If this was legit, you would have seen letters in the mail AND phone calls, constantly...until you get sick of it and tell them to stop.  NO ONE can harass you at work either!!!  It's against the law, all you have to say is:  "Do NOT call this number again, it is my place of business."  If they call again, you can report them and get them in trouble...I HAVE done it in the past, it's worth your time.

    (OH, and NO ONE in my household has signed ANY type of contract in the past 10 years.  Unless you count Home Depot for my fence and I paid cash for that!   LOL)

    RE: Fake Dept Collector Call scam
    Basically the same scenario as above except I received a call regarding my niece. Some of my relatives received the call too. A "Jessica Williams" from "Revenue Recovery" left a message on my cell phone; niece in serious legal trouble, legal documents, need to return the call immediately and provided a recovery ID number and phone #855-623-3530. Female caller (Jessica) had an issue pronouncing some words and totally botched my niece's name. After listing to the message, I noticed my caller ID had "Unknown" which is suspicious if legitimate company. Before returning the call, I located numerous complaints on the internet regarding this phone number and similar circumstances. Of course when I called the number, no answer. Definitely seems to be a scam to steal your money, not about money actually owed: Fake Debt Collectors (http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors). Never provide private information to people who call you.

    What person is going to actually tell you before they serve you! These people are ridiculous!!! I keep getting calls too. What I don't get is even after I called them back to tell them look gigs up they still called me back! I called and asked for their address the lady said who's this before I give out all that information. No legit company would ever do that. She ended up not giving me the address and hanging up on me. Real classy

    These people have called me twice now, in addition to two, or three others that have called me. I usually call back after hours when I know that they have gone for the day, and tell them that if they have a legitimate claim against me then send it to me in writing. This, so far no one has done. I must admit that I gave in to at least two scammers, possibly more. I told them that I needed this in writing. They told me that once the debt was paid they would send me a complete written release stating that the debt had been paid. Well, guess what , they never paid it. Now, it's up to you whether you pay them if they call you, but I refuse, or at least not till I get something in writing.

    It's sad when Americans have to stoop so low and try to steal other peoples money. These people are not from India nor are they forgien   The must have taken lessons from them.  This hoe bag that answers the phone thinks it's funny to call you names. I got news for her. Sweetie your low as they come.   You think your smart but not disclosing your company name. Don't worry I already have it. Some day the law will catch up with you and your bottom feeding crooks. Enjoy the laughter while you can. Bye bye

    Annoyed
    Received a scripted message telling me to call this number for a claim against me.  It came from an "Unknown" number on my cell phone.  I could hear a lot of chatter in the background, so it's obviously from a scamming call center.

    Ii have been having problems with this unknown company calling and leaving the # 1 855 623 3530. The caller id shows private caller. This has been happening for almost a year. First call was placed  to my sister, Mr Brown stated he was from the local county attorneys office and they needed information on how to contact me because they hada warrant for my arrest. When she asked what for he said I wrotea bad check for $32,000 and shewas going to be arrested if she did not give them the info they needed. She hung upofcourse I called the county att. And found out no such warrant or person existed. When she blocked his # he began calling my cell phone and stating he was with the sherriff. Our sherriff actually called him back and told him to stop calling me if he had legitimate business to send it registered mail. Nothing in writing to this day. They now have a Chanel Latamore calling my new home # stating she is a locator and has a summons for me to appear in court on fraud charges. She claims I owe check and go $38,000 for a bad check that was written on my account 10+ years ago. I have never had a checking account and how do u borrow thatmuch on a pay day advance? When I call back I get Mr Brown who likes to remind me he knows my address and will b at my door soon with the sherriff. Sherriff would love to meet him and are awaiting his assist call.

    Called BBB, federal consumer protection and states attorney as well as local sherriff and DA. Nothing canapparently be done because the company name revenue coollections is not real.
