Okay, but which one? You took the time to come here so why didn't you give any actual information on this "collection agency"?

I believe they are called “Improved Data Services”, but they work under different DBAs. There is a law that they cannot contact a person more than 7 times a week, so they use fake names and spoofed numbers to get around it.

They are scum, they will call your work and your relatives and give them information like there is a warrant for your arrest or charges are being filed against you, trying to locate you. This is highly illegal to make threats and give out information like that. They even told my family member exactly what they think I owe for a company I’ve never used. Again, illegal. Record all conversations, you can actually sue them. My attorney is working on it now. Check out their BBB page, they have broken so many laws. They can owe you as much as $1000 per call!

If that is what your lawyer told you then you need a new lawyer.

I did and I see 16 complaints and 8 reviews that I didn't bother to read.  Nothing about "so many laws that they have broken" since the only law that counts is the FDCPA.

No, the CFPB cannot issue laws.  Laws must be written by Congress and signed by the President.  The CFPB can issue rules and/or regulations.  If I get a chance I will try to get more information on this outfit.

If your "attorney is working on it now" you must have their legal name & business address so please share it with us.

Sure do. It’s on the same website you saw the BBB complaints. Although they do use other names like Capital and Portfolio this is their most recent DBA, also registered as Nationwide.

She isn't "them".  She is simply not great at looking up information.  You put up a lot of questionable information and purposely have tried to mislead people (before you ask again read my last reply to you)  But if you really want to start something, I'm right here so

When they continue to call me about a person I don’t know, I’ve asked them to stop calling, and they continue to threaten me and gave me financial and personal information on a woman named Carol Dxxxx, but threaten me as well, I’m entitled to quite a lot actually. Their call last night was at 10:31 as well. They’re racking up charges.

Under the FDCPA you are entitled to a statutory amount of $1,000, period.  What you get in settlement should be a lot more if you have a good attorney.  If he is smart he will play the game and get you a large, 5 figure settlement.  If he isn't he is going to recommend that you take the standard $7,500 settlement.  That, of course is up to you.  Now, you may possibly have a TCPA claim also but it would take a lawyer to determine if you can sue under that law.  What surprises me is that it seems that you did nothing and continue to do nothing to mitigate damages.  You could have sent them a certified, return receipt letter (or did you leave that little tidbit out of your posts as well?) telling them that it isn't you that they are looking for.

    FDCPA:   https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/pl ... actices-act.pdf

By the way, I can prove everything that I post about.  Make sure that you can also because it seems like you are here simply to bait us.

They texted me, said they tried to call me, no information. I googled the # and found this page.
Told me what I needed to know. Nationwide I suspect.

I'm not sure this is a collection agency - they first hit me with a text message that they were USPS and to please correct the zip code to get a delivery. Was my work phone so I gave it to our InfoSec Dept. Link went to a virus free but fabulously spoofed USPS website. When that didn't work, the texts messages from 855-650-0311 came in. InfoSec is really enjoying themselves. I see that employees from the scammers have been commenting. Where you targeting government issued phones or just stumbled upon them by accident? This is where the saying "criminals want to be caught" comes from I guess.

I agree and seems more like "Jared" found search results that had IDA as one of the results listed, but I have not found anything to connect it to this number. "Jared" seems to be just ranting bait posts and didn't really get a call.

I don't know where you see that, as none of the posts here remotely sound like a scammer.

I am thinking this whole thread was being set up for baiting responses now that I re-read it a few times. First 2 very vague at being a possible debt collector call. 3rd one was a bit more 'coaxing' and the 4th one outright said debt collector to get a response. Then "Jared" took the stage.
    Once a month bait post.......?

This whole thread does seem questionable.  I notice that "Jared" suddenly fled the scene as well when presented with proven facts.
