Left voicemail that she is an attorney, lots of bogus info, that she is coming to serve papers at my home or place of employment. Didn’t ask for anyone by name. Left this number to call that no one answers. If some is going to serve you they are not going to call and give you a heads up so you can leave. Extortion!

Today, 06-30-21, I received a call from 352-320-3172 and 1-855-650-1390, a automatic female voice stating that we were going to receive a summons and wanted to know when were we going to be home to receive it. I called the number back and a woman, the secretary, told me that she was going to transfer me to one of the lawyers. I was then transferred to Michael, the "paralegal." He said that we had less than 3 hours to pay the reduced amount from a loan that was taken out in 2018 (I never took one out). He then sent me the settlement letter with the reduced amount.  On the letter, the heading read Conlan Oliver and Associates, LLC. It didn't have an address on the letter.  The letter was signed Ms. Reign Sheppard. Did that name come from Shepherds Reign Band??? What law firm wouldn't have there legitimate address on their letters??? However, when asked for a copy of the "original loan," he said that we will receive them in court.  I told him to send the summons to my address and we will see them in court. He hung up on me.

I got called in June from Conlan Oliver and Associates LLC, they had information about a loan I took out when I was 19. They knew all my info and current address etc. I thought it was legit so I paid the "settlement" amount...today I recieved another call from them saying I owed money on the same account. After telling the man I already paid he said "oh yes. I see that now, it looks like your paperwork was left on someone's desk and didn't get processed correctly." After much digging and finding where the current account is being held, it is being investigated and flagged as fraud. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE!

Yes, as no legitimate company would violate the Laws and threaten someone over the phone. The name does not appear to be a real one either, as I could not find anything in a web search for it. Closest names were an Insurance company and a Marriage Counselor.

    Debt Extortion Scammers

Carrier Services and Process Servers do not know what is contained in the documents they are paid to serve/deliver. Anyone explaining what they are delivering, saying "matter attached to your SSN", "you have officially been notified"  or offering an alternative "solution" to avoid delivery is a scammer.

The vague scare tactic message is designed to panic a victim into calling back.

Most debt collectors will use a certain amount of pressure to convince you to pay the debt. After all, they often don't get paid unless you pay. Be suspicious of a debt collector who uses an unusual amount of pressure to get you to pay immediately, particularly if they also use scare tactics to get you to pay right away. For example, a debt collector is scamming you if it :
    • threatens you with a lawsuit and tells that you can avoid the lawsuit by paying right away
    • Says a Process Server  or Courier is coming with papers to sign
    • Threatens to call / go to your place of employment
    • Insists you have been notified, served or are non-compliant via phone message(s)
    • Refuses to give a company name or verifiable Contact source
    • Refuses to send proof of debt via US mail

A sure sign of a debt collection scam is a collector that wants to you to pay via wire transfer or another method that can't be traced. If the payment method can't be traced, you'll have a harder time getting the authorities involved.

If the creditor sounds completely foreign, or you know you never had an account with that business, there's a chance it's a scam. Never pay a collection you don't recognize. You have the right to request written proof of the debt from the debt collector before you send payment.

I got a phone call from Colan Oliver and Associates. They sent me a letter with no company address and no phone number and Ms Regin Sheppard was the name on the letter also. Is this company a scam or legit. I need to to know they are asking for payment for a credit card but all they can tell me is from Visa card services.  If I dont pay someone will come to my job or place of residence to serve papers. Can some one help me.

No where, it does not legally exist so that means it could be anywhere in the US, Canada, or the World.

The letter you received should have their business address on it but since it doesn't, that's further proof this company isn't legitimate.

I don't know why you insist on ignoring what I posted. What you described is a classic debt extortion scam, so I don't know what your expecting, since "Anne" has no way of knowing you replied to her post, unless she just happens to look the number up again for some reason.

You keep asking the same question and it has already been answered. You posted the exact same post I answered, right after I answered, which got flagged for being a duplicated post.
Here, maybe this will help.......Yes, it is a scam!
