got a phone call from a PRIVATE NUMBER and the caller said he was calling in reference to a legal matter for an affidavid? to be delivered.  gave the phone number 855-664-2177 said he would give me 25 min to call.

Did you ever call back?  What did you find out from this number?  A scam?

I called these fools back with the 'case number' they had on me.  Answering service said they are a company called Check & Credit Reporting, Inc.  Just an FYI, they have an F rating in the BBB.

I was transferred to 3 different individuals in about a minute.  The first person (Philip Garnett) 'accidentally' hung up on me when I asked for their address so I could send the a request for Verification of Debt per the FDCP Act.
I called back, a second person (Olivia Conway) then transferred me to (Terri Reed), who claimed she was from the Fraud Dvision of CCR & Associates, I needed to pay them immediately or they will send a summons.  She hung up on me when I asked for the address so I could send her the Verification of Debt request.  Ms. Reed then claimed it wasn't debt, but an issue with a fraudulent check (?).  

A huge red flag went up when I heard her say 'CCR & Associates'.  I recall them calling me last year about 'dedt' my brother supposedly owned.  Apparently, as a reference, I by default, am now a palpable target of this scam.

I received a call from 855-664-2177 a few minutes ago, claiming a case was filed against me using my social security number and  threatening to send me a summons.  When I called the number and extension, I was told the call was being recorded.  When I asked for specific information as to the company name and asked the woman to explain what the call was about, before I gave her the case number, she hung up on me!  I used reverse number lookup to find out who CCR Legal Services is and a link led me to this page.  Scammers!

I placed a return call to this number as well after receiving a message relayed to me that there was a case number, by an individual who said their name was Chris Harris - and called themselves a Process Server - not sure that is legal AT ALL. When I called them - I was transferred to a Dimetrius Grant - who was apparently able to speak and get possible payment plan information from their "legal" department at 730pm at night - I asked for all the information they had - and how i could get verification of that debt information as I was not going to pay a debt that I didn't know was actually mine - I was told that i could get it AFTER I paid the debt.

i  got a call today from a REBBECA PIERCE stating she was with a "liasons division from the legal dept" and that i had 2 complaints filed against me...  gave me a case # and everything ... i was like WHOAAA this sounds like some aggressive debt collecting and i immediately jumped online with the 1 - 855 number and all this scam info popped up problem solved :)

"Gary" calling from the "Awards Claims Center" regarding a $25,000 cash award promotion that had been closed but he was calling to congratulate me as I was a winner of one of their top 3 prizes.  I was to call toll free 855-664-2177 to get more information regarding my prize. I did not call as I figured it was a scam.  I had not entered a contest so how could I be a winner.  I tried looking up the number at a reverse number site online to try to see what State it was coming from but got the response that it is not a legitimate number.

They have been calling me with the same thing for the past 2 years. After a ugly divorce 4 years ago, I  filed for bankruptcy 4  years ago and not had any type of debt since. I told them if they file anything against me, the I will take them to court for fraud. I also had a call from the so call process server Mr. Harris. I asked for his license number for AZ so I can file a harassment claim and he hung up on me.
