Was online and I think 2  warnings came up saying my Windows Firewall was infeced and there was a possible Trojan virus.  The notices said to call the Windows security desk at 855-679-3474.  I did a security scan which said my computer was fine and protected.

I had the same experience as BJJ.  As I could not close out the website, I called the number and spoke to a very heavy dialected male who first asked if I had an Apple or Windows product. (Why would a Windows helpline service Apple products?) By this point my "danger, danger" intuition was in full swing.  He then asked if I used my computer for online banking.  I immediately made an excuse to get off of the line stating that I would call back.  I phoned my brother and asked him to check the phone number out online.  He then walked me through blocking all pop-ups and clearing my browser history on my new computer.  I also ran a scan and no malware or viruses were detected.

I,  too, had the same experience last evening.  The heavily dialected man told me to enter a url.  I stupidly tried, but an message appeared indicating was that the page was not available.  The man said I was not connected to the internet, I told him I most definitely was. He abruptly told me he could not help me and hung up.  I did a security scan as well and was told my pc was clean and protected.

was attempting to look at downloading software and this alert popped up saying my computer was at risk and asked me to call this number emmediately. I tried exiting the alert but it returned and i was unable to do anything.  So like an idiot I called the number and talked to a man ...he gave me his name and I thought he was legit??  He went through many things and I thought he was was a tech person with our recently purchased windows 10.  After an hour or so of him trying to fix my problem he said i would have to get tech support elsewhere and did give me an estimate($155) for correcting several problems he listed with his "Windows 35" tech person??  I said I would think about it and he could call back...which he did,but I said no thanks.  I unplugged my computer and re-booted it and so far is working fine.  SCARY!

I just had the same experience.  I did not call the phone number.  I checked my computer's security and it was a-okay.  I couldn't get out of the page so I closed the internet through the task manager.

Guess what?  The same thing happened to me last night...same exact message!  Windows Firewall Infected!!!  Rootkit.Sirefef.Spy and Trojan Virus Found in System 32 NT (Network Threat Protection) Kernel. Virus source: Free Games, Porn Website & Third Party Internet Search. Please visit Your Nearest Windows Service Center. OR Call: 1-855-679-3474 (TOLL-FREE)

I did nothing, I couldn't...my computer seemed to freeze or lock up.  The computer is brand new, I have Windows 10 now and new Office 13.  I was hoping when I woke this morning that this message would have disappeared.  It did not & I did nothing except come to work & inquire.  My boss said it was probably a hoax and to google the phone number along with the error before calling anyone.  That's where I found many comments on this.  I was told to do a hard reboot or use task manger if working and double check my virus protection and windows firewall.  I'm sure all will be OK and thanks everyone for your remarks on this subject!

same here.  I then called the number and asked the guy to tell me his business address so I could check out his company's legitimacy. He wouldn't or couldn't do it. I've done this before with same result.  They don't want you to know where they are. Why would this stop a legitimate support operation?  They should be proud to talk about who and where they are!

If you call this number, you connect to AVG Cloudcare. They will tell you (in broken English) that your computer is infected with viruses and worms and will crash at any moment if you don't accept their technical assistance (for a big fee) and install their security system (another big fee). They say they were "authorized" to contact you because they are the best people for the job. It is a scam. I scanned my computer twice (McAfee) and no problems showed up. Alarming that they have the ability to bring your computer to a halt, then use scare tactics to attempt to take advantage of you.
