Called at 8:00 am.  I was expecting a technician from direct TV so I answered but there was just silence on the other end.  I waited almost 1 minute but still no response.  Called the number back and the voice machine said "Thank you for calling Mostech (sp?) your Direct TV service provider."  So it is associated with my Direct TV tech but why they just leave you hanging is beyond me.  When the tech arrives I'm going to let him/her know about this.

Called at 8:46 AM on Thursday, September 5th.  I was also expecting a technician from DIRECTV, but I see no evidence that a technician ever showed up at my house.  Instead, what sounded like a robot left a message which told me that the visit from a technician had been rescheduled for tomorrow between the hours of 8 and 12.  I recently had a new roof installed on my house, so it was necessary to temporarily remove the dish antenna. The dish was reinstalled on Sunday, September 1st by an employee of the roofing company, but apparently it needed some adjustment in order to pick up the signal from the satellite. I called 1-800-DIRECTV and made an appointment for a technician to come and adjust the dish sometime between the hours of 4 and 8 PM on Monday, Sept. 2nd (Labor Day), then waited in my front yard in 100° heat from 3 to 8:30 PM.  No technician ever arrived or called.  I called DIRECTV at 10:30 PM Monday night and a machine said, "I see you have an appointment between 4 and 8 PM on Monday. "Would you like to change or cancel that appointment?

Why would you stand outside in the heat just to wait on a tech. They know how to knock on the door.

a call from the "dispatch" for DirecTV. told me about my appointment time 12-4 and told me the technician would be calling me 30  minutes prior to arrival. Um DirecTV you might want to upgrade your system. since you called nearly an hour AFTER my appointment time started AND 10 minutes AFTER the technician called me.

Called about a DirectTV install, we are not satellite customers and did not schedule. Suspected a scam and did not give information.

Based on the previous comments, I suspect it's DirecTVv.  I have an appointment today, but the number they are to call is my wife's - not my cell.  Even verified this when I called for service last week.  No message left.

Unfortunately, there are many people who have your problem. I have clients who have had their wireless numbers continuously called by telemarketers. Even numbers that are on the National Do Not Call List get telemarketing calls. There is a Federal Law called the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). It allows for an individual to recover up to $1500 for each violation that occurs. Calls to personal and business wireless numbers, using a pre-recorded message ( a robot on the other line asking you to press one to connect) or an ATDS (you say hello a few times and you hear a click sound, followed by someone on the other end of the phone), must receive prior express written consent when making a call, otherwise it may violate the law. Calls to a residential landline using a pre-recorded message are also most likely illegal as well.  Unfortunately, the only real way to try and make these illegal telemarketing practices stop is by going after them and making them pay damages. I recommend you consult an attorney familiar with the TCPA to help you in this matter.
