Called saying my husband was being sued for a bank account from 2001 for overdraft fees.

Davis and ASsociates Alton Davis and a*s. Debt collectors Houston,Texas with various call centers Nationwide
Recieved a phone call at 7:30 am  for sa relative who has never lived here. Stated they were an attorneys office  trying to reach this person in regard to a court case filed agaisnt them. Gave number and said it was for a debt and that they needed to call or there would be a judgement against them. As I am an attorney I checked the state Bar  and there is no attorney by that name in this state. Checked court records and there is no filing against this person. VIolation of FDCPA b on several counts. Too early communication, pretending to be an attoreny or attorneys office, falsely representing legal action had been inititated.    Do not respond this scam collection agaency.  I beleive they are actually located in Houston, Texas, but have call centers in various states. They are debt buyers trying to collect on out of date debts or those with incomplete information for te original creditor to collect on. DO NO PAY THEM without getting verification in writing of debt, original credito, and date debt was incurred.

Called my parents house, asking for me.  Saying it was in regards to a civil complaint on a debt from 2000 and said there was a lawsuit being prepared against me.
