they called a relative's phone - not sure how they assicated me with that number - and left message saying I am involved in a civil complaint. Cannot imagine this is in any way the case, has to be some sort of scam

they called a relative's phone  not sure how they got my number  and left message saying I am involved in a civil complaint.

They called said there sending documents to my residence. But don't know what for?  Who are these people.

After hours robo-greeter IDs them as Williamson and (something-or-other).  Couldn't make it out.  Clearly some sort of debt collector.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

They called me block number and then I had a voicemail pop up with a woman's voice saying an officer was coming to my house between the hours of 9am-11am today and left a number and a case number. I called back an some idiot guy answered and said he was a law office and asking my name and I refused to give him any information and asked who he was. He got a nasty attitude with me and said, "I'm not your husband or kid and you aren't going to talk to me like that!" I told him, "I don't talk to my husband like this, because he isn't an idiot like you!" He hung up on me. My friend who works in a law office asked me for the case number and said it was BS! Don't give these people any information. If someone shows up, call the police right away. Can't stand a scammer.

Yes they called me yesterday and said i have a 2000$ bill for a hospital i have neber been  too, 10 years ago!!

Same deal called and said a civil suit filed from a hospital bill 14 years ago I don't owe. Called the hospital they said I owe nothing. Scammers is what they are

Received the same call from these scammers. Reported them to National Do Not Call Registry. Once they have enough complaints on these scammers they will go after them. So please report.

Called and threatened me with civil lawsuit. I told them to send paperwork and not call me again. She yelled over the top of me and then called me back to back for 10-15 minutes. I finally started answering and setting the phone down. They started calling my family members and telling them they were suing me. Ridiculous.
