American Express but I didn’t set up account. SPAM!!

Dont own a business account and have asked to be taken off these crooks list. It is obviously cold calling spam. Find a new job that is respectable and earn a living respecting folks privacy.

It's not about your account through American Express. It's about your account to accept credit cards through your processor.

I answered this call. They didnt steal anything. Maybe you should have listened to what they said. Its an American Express service call for your account through your third party payment processor.

They didnt ask me for any info? How is that phising? 🤔

Polly is active with this number. She's posted on several scam call websites misleading information.

I received a call from them claiming that they were from American Express. When I pressed for more information, they named a credit card processor that I never heard of nor ever did business with. When I stated (truthfully) that I don't even have credit card processing the line became strained.

This is 100% a scam.

Calling on behalf of American Express wanting to talk to our owner (who has an Am Ex Card) about some "free benefits"  Not sure how they got this number has our company is HQ in OK and we're in KS

This is a phishing call and/or scam.  Steve identifies himself as being form American Express and said it was regarding our Merchant Account.  I said so you are not from American Express.  He said no, I am from American Express and we are now partnered with your Merchant Account so that you can process American Express payments.  We have ALWAYS been able to process American Express payments so this is not a legitimate call.

855-715-1660... 6/26/20 1:56 pm PST.  This guy mumbled so bad could not understand 1 Freaking word he was saying.  I turned up the volume on the phone no difference.  Thanks to all you people who have the above references.   It just proves my point about cold calls.  THEY SUCK they waste our time. And thanks to OBAMA (as this robo calling was part of the initiative to pass his ObamaCare Act) that low lifer we are stuck with them.

I received a call late last year. A message left by a woman who said her company had taken over my merchant processing. She said I had changed something and would like a call back so I could accept AmericanExpress. My address did change and I never notified anyone. Thought that was the reason. Didn't matter because it's all done online and never received mail from my processor ever. I never did call back. Still have the same Converge processor. But I've been getting authenticated ad emails from AmericanExpress. It kind of vindicated the orginal call was legit. Today I get this phone number with American Express as caller ID. No message left. Reading comments seems to indicate it is a phishing scam. If anything changes, you'll get an email or a notice when you log in to your merchant account.

We just got a new credit card terminal and we do NOT accept American Express (fees are too high). But that doesn't stop them from emailing and calling. Blocked.

Caller id just shows "800 Service" which I consider code for "scammer". I was going to let the answering machine take the call, but they hung up after 2 rings.

Haven't changed anything on any of our accounts or cards, called for "benefits".  Pretended to not hear the lady multiple times randomly until she got angry and hung up. lol

Considering that my experience over the last 15 years as a merchant account holder that accepts AMEX payments I must say that American Express has never called me for promotional purposes.
All promotion correspondence from AMEX has been via email therefore I must conclude that the garbled voicemail left by Jennifer calling from this number while claiming to be from AMEX  is spam or a scam.
