This phone call was a scam! Would be nice to know who it comes back to.

I received a call from this number, and it was an automated recording saying I needed to call them ASAP about a medical payment. Yes, I went to the emergency room (in a hospital I have been to before), but I have had the same insurance for several years, and nothing has changed.
These companies buy old, and already paid bills and try to scam you out of money!

Same exact situation as JustMe it was Centura Health or St. Catherine's trying to collect. This i think is fake because I received a check not too long ago from them for an over payment and I have not received any bill from them in months.

Suggestion - call that organization using a number on a recent bill (or off their website).  They can confirm if the call is real.

This phone number appeared on a bill I recieved supposedly from Centura Health. When I called back to pay the bill, the number was not in service.

This phone number is legit.  I just called them about my bill. They have 17 hospitals across Colorado and western Kansas.  Mercy Medical is one of them.  They also own doctors offices to.  They are out of Colorado.  Greedy I say for whoever thinks they need to own that many facilities.  Just saying!  Sorry!  http://www.centura.org/Hospitals/

Scams.  Scammers.  Erroneous bills and charges.

This was a legitimate call from Centura in regards to an outstanding bill that I had.

This is a legitimate number for Centura Health.  The automated message I received from the number said it was a courtesy call and I should call back.  I checked, and the number was on a recent Centura bill.  I called and found out they wanted to discuss my recent unpaid bill, which is to be paid by my Medicare supplemental insurance. They needed me to provide a Medicare Explanation of Benefits (EOB). I informed Centura that their automatic message has the tone of being a scam call.

Just because somebody says this number is "legitimate" or "real" or something similar, Their statements may NOT apply to the call you received!

Phone call harsement.

yeah so greedy that they're non profit...

They left a call at my parents home that I haven't lived at for 35 years. If Centura actually has a bill to discuss with me, my home phone and cell phone are on EVERY medical form that I've ever completed - so it would make ZERO sense that they would call a different number loosely associated with me. I did extensive research online and this number is NOT listed anywhere as Centura. Matter of fact, the only thing that does pull up for this number is sites saying that it is a scam.

Okay, I reluctantly called the number. They seem to be legit. I did not give them any information than they already had for me. They said it was for services provided around a date that I would have received such services. It was only a $20 charge and they are mailing me an itemized bill with specifics. I did not have to give her my address, she found the information in her system. All this being said, it appears to be a legitimate number. It would be helpful for them to list in online SOMEWHERE for people to verify.

I am a Centura Health employee and while, unfortunately, someone may spoof this number for their own benefit, this phone # IS legitimate. It is a billing agency handling older Centura Health accounts for services provided in our hospitals, physician's offices, outpatient therapy, etc. This includes Penrose St. Francis, St. Mary Corwin, Mercy (Durango & Pagosa Springs), CHPG offices and Summit Medical Center to name a few.

One wonders why you felt the need to look up this number when you already know to whom it belongs.
