- ChristieCalled my work voicemail and stated that I had a debt filed against me that would be filed in my local court if I do not call immediately. I have been a victim of Identity Theft before, I have alerted local law enforcement of the number. I also alerted Federal Trade Commission - Identity Theft Unit to add to my ongoing case.
- Caller: Coastal
- MeghanI called the FBI and they referred me to the FTC. They filed my report and are going to investigate. I was told that this has all the signs of being a scam! If anyone else wants to file a report, the number for the FTC is: 8774384338. The more people who call, the more likely it is that they will be caught!
- Caller: They didn't provide a name
- BreSame call do not pay any money to them. Huge scam. They had email, old company I worked for, social security, address.
- Caller: CFS???
- Call type: Debt collector
- Andrew FranciscoI've Schizo-Affective Disorder. I googled this number frantically since Monday just now have I seen this. Huge relief I had no idea what the hell could be out there as I've just defeated an 18 month piggy back 14 year addiction to speed and a medicine my doctor had prescribed which induced maniacal psychosis killing me 10's of times!
And do therein lies my general anxiety
The worst is I've been to jail and arrested multiple times for confusing call ins via ex-girlfriends then my being released the following day every time as there was nothing that ever held up and therein another panic attack each day, thinking..
I also lost a scholarship around 2008-2009 and multiple grants as well as a publication and co-authorship at EMU Michigan with Dr. Kolopaljo after cops came two different occasions which followed then Illinois University Shootings(dates may be confused, apologies brain damage Lolol!)
So I ended up having my apartment torn up and at the time the semi crux of speed addiction and stress and zero friends only read and school school etc.
So this message was illogical as I was certain my name would be spoken by said cop so I knew....
But Jesus Christ I'm happy I know for sure now
My mind started to think up scenarios in which for political corrected tomfoolery they may of adopted some strange machine learned name pronouncing afficanado in lieu of all things being somehow racially implied...
Anywho.
My mind created a [***] cage for this past week [***] that lol
Thank god for all of you!- Caller: (855) 739-8862

- Anonymous| 1 replyDon't know who this was but threatened me with court and stated they had a serious complaint against me -- never identified name or who they were.
- CWG40 replies to ArizonaYes, I have called them back out of curiosity--they refuse to say anything but "Coastal". You can hear call-center noises in the background. I think they are a domestic group of debt scammers.
Coastal scam. No idea where they are located. Call from a variety of numbers for several years now. Ignore and block any calls received from this “Coastal” group. Sometimes uses the CID of “Coastal Litigation” or Coastal Pre-litigations.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.
If they are bothering you, report them:

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them. Tell 'em no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking). the only thing they understand. - CWG40 replies to AnonymousIt's total clap-trap. If there were a civil case filed against you or even one being contemplated, the attorney for the other party would have sent you a letter. You'd have a paper trail. You would not hear about a civil complaint from some scammery-scummery debt collector who uses a lot of legal mumbo-jumbo in order to try to scare money out of you.
See the other entries. Ignore and block these calls. This is the "Coastal" scam.
