- Denise BarnesWell I received the same call yesterday from 855-752-4075 x67194 from Edwin Parker.. Saying he was from Microsoft and my computer was sending them error messages.. Funny thing is, I really have been having problems with my computer and I had been hitting the send error message button to Microsoft and so I thought that it was for real... Dumbly I did let him into my computer, and their were over 49,000 error messages... Edwin talked for over 30mins explaining all kinds of stuff.. I cut him off several times and asked what was it that was needed.. Finally he got to the screen that displayed the MDI support and the above phone number and $150.00. He told me to write the phone number down. I asked for his extension, which he reluctantly gave to me, and said anyone could help me.. I advised him I needed to talk this over with my husband.. We just had a new harddrive installed in July.. He kept telling me that the Microsoft operating system needed to have an antivirus for it and that the McAfee I had would not keep it safe.. Kept showing me that I wasn't protected because there weren't any kb numbers behind my AOL program, nor my McAfee program.. that is when I really knew something was wrong..
Edwin spoke with a slight English accent.- Caller: MDI

- DaleI got the same call as everyone else here did but the guy used the name William Spencer I didn't fall for any of his lines and googled the phone number right away and read all these comments about them i urge everyone to spread the word about these people to all your friends, we all must have some link to the same place where they are getting their information on us I just started back with Direct T.V. again not sure if this could be their link but thats the only thing I have done different lately but I guess it could be facebook or any other thing that we all have in common too....
- BonnieMy experience was the same as the above. I was apprehensive at first but he first started out directing ME how to look up the error messages. Next thing you know he has me type in an address and soon HE was on my computer. As soon as he started talking money to help me A BIG RED FLAG WENT UP and I stopped him from doing anything. Before he logged off he had installed GOOGLE CHROME which I did not want as I have an older computer and it doesn't work well on it.
I printed the error messages and his notepad message and promptly deleted the access info he left on my tool bar. Also ran my Norton virus scan which found nothing. He said he was going to send me an email but never asked for the address which I wouldn't have given him and I never received one. I am still going to check with my computer support team to see if there is anything further I need to do. My contact person went by ROMERO HUNTER (good India name). lol- Caller: MDI TECH SUPPORT
- Phil replies to Charles HalbertExactly the same thing happened to me. I also hope there is nothing new on my computer. He saw the picture on the screen saver and began asking questions if this was my wife and grandchildren. That is when I became concerned and got his name, Romeo Hunter, and ended the call.
