He says his name is Josh and offered me a discounted rate if I paid $300 on a money pack. I had him so mad he threatened to kill my family. He called me back numerous times before I blocked him.

Caller said he was from DirectTV, and offered a flat monthly fee.  The same # had called 6 times the day before.  I called DirectTV and they said he was unaffiliated.

Just got the same call. I knew something was wrong so googled the number immediately. When you call the number back it sounds legit until you talk to somebody and they barely know English and offer a deal you know damn well Direct Tv or AT&T's greedy [***] will never ever offer.

Same here, I told him he could just deduct the great rate off my bill but he said I had to pay it separate from my account! There may be a sucker out there but I ain’t one of them. I too wonder how he got my info. He even knew my monthly rate for internet/Directv. Sounds like an inside job.

This phone number showed up as originating from Cambodia.  I know no one from Cambodia so did not answer the call.  Tried calling several times again and the call showed unknown so it is obviously a scam as reported by prior recipients of these calls.  Blocked.

Got the call from the 855 number 2 days ago. Seemed to good to be true and it was. I blocked the number thinking I'd never hear from him again. Wrong. Today caller ID said 800-531-5000 which really is Directv cust service. I told him I knew it was a scam. He said to call Directv customer service. I did. They never heard of the promotion

Got a call from this number - mumbly guy was going to offer me an HBO, Starz, Cinemax promotion.  Said I was not interested.  He hung up immediately without another word.  I tried to call back and got a call holding message that said they were direct TV with  background music  but I highly doubt it.  I blocked the number.

No CID or voicemail on my unpublished DNC LAN line don't answer or return unknowns.

I'm reading all these NOTES. Doesn't sound like AT&T folks,  been with them 36 years & their people don't operate ill mannered.

Indian scam offering me DirecTV "including premium channels" for $60, per month for 2 years.  I would need to pay $300, up front.  I hung up at that point so I didn't learn his method of payment.

I keep getting calls from various numbers for my husband when I say he isn't in they say they'll call back later.  So today I answered and said I was him but clearly they should have known I was a woman. The guy proceeded to offer me a deal for DirectTV to cut my bill in half and include all of the premium channels. I said this is an unbelievable offer and he went on to tell me that he was with DirectTV for my service at (he read off the full address).  This made it seem somewhat legit, so I asked if he could tell me the bill amount.  He put me on hold came back and told me it was a combined bill with no balance, all true.  He said he needed my pin to tell me more. I didn't give it and went back to the offer and asked what's the catch...  At that point, I was told that I needed to pay 6 months up front. I said oh okay so we are supposed to pay you and I don't even know who you are, I told him this number isn't associated with DirectTV.  He had an answer for that as well. He said he'd hang up and call from his direct number (I think he meant the company number because the first one he's supposed to pretend is direct).  I said sure you do that, he hung up and called back multiple times from 1-800-531-5000.  I looked this number up and it has a listing as DirectTV customer service (they are good).

Now, this is where things get fun.  He was furious when I finally answered, I guess he thought he had a sucker.  He had the nerve to ask me why I didn't answer my phone and make him call me over and over. lol  I asked why he was trying to scam me he said he wasn't... He said he needed the pin and he could provide the offer.  I told him charge it to the card on file, he said he needed the pin to do so.  It seems like the goal is to get the pin number or your credit card information.  He became so furious with me he told me "You are an [***]", lol it just came out of nowhere.  Well not really nowhere I guess it's because he forgot he was scamming for DirecTV and mentioned he worked for Comcast Xfinity and I told him to figure out which company he actually worked for before scamming people. I am not sure how many other names he called me as his native tongue took over and the words all ran together...  I'd rather be an [***] than stupid.
