    Message left from this number said something about the caller being a process server.  We accidentally deleted message while trying to replay.  Will not call them back.

    Answered call and heard a recorded message from a "process server" about action requiring my signature. Threatened legal action if I didn't call back. Tried reverse lookup on the number -- no results.  SCAM

    Got the call from Terry Morris as well. Said that my daughter was going to be arrested for check fraud.  Called back and Terry was in a meeting but they pulled my "file".  When I pushed them for the name and number of the Prosecuting attorney as well as some proof ...IE a copy of the check with her signature. He said it was a legal matter and I would get this information in court. Pushed him a bit harder and he put me to his supervisor.  The supervisor came on and demanded my account and routing number so we can clear this all up before she went to jail and I would end up posting bail.  Pushed him a bit and he hung up.   I called back and asked the next guy for their address.  He said he could not give that out and asked me to pay the amount due...drilled a bit on him and he called me ignorant and to not call this number again then hung up on me.  Turned over to the local police.  Find em and kill em is my thought.

    I got the same call that others have gotten, from a Terry Morris, who told me I had some papers that needed my signature and to call to resolve this matter on "voluntary terms" or else, face legal action. So tempted to call and provide bogus info but why waste my time.

    Same exact scenario. Told me to respond I. A voluntary response would avoid further legal action. He said he needs my signature to deliver me some important legal documents. Something needs to be done about these scammers.
    • Caller: Just said he was Terry Morris a process server from a processing

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    I got the same call today.  Same Terry, processing server, etc. Since I had recently settled a claim re a car accident & car insurance I thought maybe the suit papers were filed before we settled (yesterday) so I went to my state's online court records.  You can look up your name and see if there are warrants, suits filed against you, etc.

    I am clean.  There is no reason for a process server to approach me.

    SCAM!

    My mom and my sister got the same call saying that I was about to go to jail for check fraud!  would need bail money.  They told my mom that they had been to my house and that was told that i no longer lived there by the land lord. Funny I am my own land lord and have lived there for many years. I filed a complaint with the District Attorney a year ago and it is starting again.

    Every monday around 9:15 am this guy calls threatening legal action if I don't call him back.  What a Scam!!!  He is looking for personal information.  Once you confirm a call back, he's got your number.  If you are silly enough to talk to him, he's got what ever you telling him about your personal life.  I hope someone tracks this down -- probably over seas?

    I do believe that some of these are somewhat legitimate but they go about it so underhandedly and do tell lies to get what they want!  This number just called me and threatened me with arrest for 2 felonies and I went straight to my attorneys office and talked to them!  No one has filed anything with the courts and there is no arrest warrant out for me and my attorneys said they would take care of it!
