got a call from these people - said they were Blue Cross--when I called they wanted my phone number and then the recorded voice asked for my date of birth---I got suspicious so I hung up and called BC directly and it was not them.  SCAM

Received a message perportedly from Blue Cross, asking me to call them back for an important message. The callback number was this one, but the caller ID was 412-894-1581. I've not yet established that this is a scam or not. I don't know how K was so quickly able to establish it was a scam... did he really wait 3 hours on hold at blue cross?? :)

Not Blue Cross. This number is the "toll free" call back number for another number that is not a Blue Cross number. And this is not how Anthem does business. Likely a scam due to the recent data breach.

Not true. I contacted blue cross through their website (anthem.com) and they indicated that the number is indeed their number.

I was also told to call back this number.  The number that called me was also 412-894-1581.  When you call that number back, it says the call cannot be completed as dialed.  I called the number on the back of my blue cross card and was told the 855-790-5017 was not a valid blue cross number.

I just called the Anthem Blue Cross member services number on the back of my insurance card.
They told me that this number is for their "important health reminders."

Got a call from a Pittsburgh, PA number asking me to have my husband call THIS number. Said they were Anthem Blue Cross. Called the 855-790-5017 number and got the same robo voice asking if I was my husband and that there was an important health reminder for him. Well, it was shaping up to be a total phishing expedition, so I hung up and reported it to Anthem. They concur this is not a legit number or form of communication for Anthem. Be warned!

And I just called Anthem and they told me the number IS NOT for health reminders and NOT how they do business at all. The fact the initial number that called showed up as disconnected when I tried to call it back was an immediate tell.

Robo voice said it was Anthem Blue Cross with an important health reminder. I called the number left on my vm and it was the same robo voice asking me for my date of birth, which made me very suspicious and I hung up.
Blue Cross has confirmed THIS IS NOT THEM. BEWARE. Scammers are ruthless.

Just got this call as well. Glad I looked this up on this website. I called the number back but then promptly hung up.

Call came from 1-978-775-6226 and asked me to call 1-855-790-5017.  Anthem confirms neither of these numbers are registered in their directory

Got a call claiming it was Anthem Blue Cross saying they had an important health reminder and asking to call back 855-790-5017. Felt weird so I googled and found this

Got a voicemail saying it was Anthem Blue Cross with an important health reminder. Glad I looked it up before calling b ack.

Did not call back since this site says its a scam
