    Woman called saying she was from Cox. The phone number was masked because it came in as the # I had saved in my phone for Cox. Asked what I was using internet for (ex: was I using it for work or school from home). I replied that I use it for general internet use. She asked if I could tell her about my current security system. When I asked why she needed that information, she tried to upsell me on Cox security. I called my local Cox office and Cox Customer Service and they confirmed this call was NOT from Cox, and suggested calling the # back. It gave me a quick (probably fake) message ex: "you've reached Cox"..., and then forwarded me to a woman instead of offering a menu of options.  She answered with the same script (ie: "I'm calling from Cox")... even though I was the one who called them. Said her name was something like Lucretia when I asked.  Continued with the exact same script. Sounds like an information phishing scam... DO NOT give personal information!

    I received this same call and was given the same script when I tried calling them back. Very weird.

    This number called 3 times in a row like it was super important.  Caller ID said Cox Communications.  Didn't answer I was working,  but there no reason for cox to call me, I don't believe it was them

    Did not answer this unrecognized caller. Recording said it was Cox Communications and to call a particular number (which I neglected to write.doen and forth deleting msg) to avoid further calls. I called Cox at their regular number and they have no record of any reason I would be called. This is the 2nd time I've received a message like this and both times Cox said it wasn't them. They should look into this, because someone is impersonating them or they have an internal issue.

    Same thing just happened to me. Said her name was "Sarah" from Cox. Wanting to upgrade my services with their new security feature. I said, "nah, I am good." and hung up. I googled the number and see many of you are having the same issue.

    Called and said they were from Cox and to make sure I am getting the best possible service for my home. She asked how many devices I use and how I monitor my home when away from home…Suspicious because she said ok and have a good day and that was it. Probably phishing or some sort of scam, just don’t give personal information to this person

    Same script as what I need in the comments.  Asked about my security, asked about cameras.  Then asked if I needed anything.  It was a bizarre call, so I searched the number, as I'm guessing everyone else did on this thread.  Pure scam
