- Annon| 2 repliesThis number called my brother and told him he was being sued and he better be home in an hour to be served paper. I *67 my number and called back. A younger sounding man answered the phone-name was Chad or Jack. I asked him the nature of his business and curious as to why he called my brother. He got super defensive and hung up

855 area code numbers, like all "toll-free" numbers, get the number (and possibly the subscriber's name) calling them through a system independent of Caller ID. There is no way to hide your number from "toll-free" numbers. - BobScammers saying you are being sued. The original number that called was +18323210914

- StephanieCalled my father, whom I don’t have contact or a relationship with and told him I’m being sued for $9980. I know this is false as I check my check report regularly and know I have no outstanding debt. My main issue was them calling a 3rd party and giving out alleged personal information. When I called I got a woman with a nasty attitude who hung up on me after telling me they spoke with me on June 12th (the same day they spoke with my father) and that I refused to pay the debt. I told her I’ve never spoken with anyone from their company and she called me a liar and hung up. Thankfully this worked to my advantage because legally they have 5 days after making contact with a debtor to send verification of the debt, including the original creditor and the amount due. I called back and they avoided my calls and hung up on me.
I finally got through to someone and had a similar conversation as before. Then I mentioned why I hadn’t received my debt verification letter, the guy “checked the system” and said I should be receiving it soon. I reminded him they had 5 days, it was now the 24th, 12 days after they allegedly spoke with me. I then asked again why they gave my personal information to my father and he got very nasty. Basically told me to cry about it.
