- Scam alert| 1 replyJennifer Brooks calling to say this is the last attempt to contact my husband about a fax delivery to the address on file. They've called from several 855 #s. Reports on other #s say it's a payday loan scam. We've never had a payday loan, so I'm assuming it is.

- BettycakesI was called by 855-811-6822 saying they were from UBS. I asked them what that stood for, they said it wasn't an acronym for anything. Then spoke with a Ms Haynes who transferred me to my "case manager" named Andre ext. 130. No answer, I left a message. I have called them about 12 times today all day trying to figure out who or where they are from. Ms Haynes said the address is a POBox number (I can't remember) and I already had their phone number. She said only my case manager can give me information on my account b/c it has been flagged. I gave them my credit card number-- I feel so stupid. Jokes on them because I had my card canceled and flagged for charges from "UBS" 2 hours later b/c something just didn't feel right. They claim they are a litigation 3rd party company. I still am calling them. I still am getting no response, just a voicemail saying "the person at extension X183 is unavailable. please leave your message after the tone."

- concerned about private infoI have received this call and called them back. They said they are collecting for a Riverside loan- which I have never heard of. I asked them for a verification of debt and I was told they did not have to provide me with that. She asked if I had been served yet- I told her she would know if I had been or not. This is ridiculous and if it's legitimate they are using abusive and illegal collection practices. I asked to speak to the attorney handling my so called case, she put me on hold and came saying they did not want to speak to me because I was unwilling to settle the debt. I told her I did not know what the debt was and I am not settling a debt I am not familiar with. She said are you waiving your rights? I said no- I don't even know what you're talking about to be waiving my rights to. She said fine, I will just have you served and hung up on me. I had this conversation 2 days in a row and I just received another call from them. I have filed a report with the FTC and consumerfinance.gov. The scary part of all of this is that she knew my name, employer, bank, social security number, and address; so wherever they are "buying" information from is accurate. I think we need to push legislatures to make it illegal for our private information to be sold.

- Shannon replies to Scam alertI just got that same call today too!
- BarbaraI received the same call from a woman. Did not identify herself. She had all my information, too. She said I was about to be prosecuted for violation of federal banking regulation and check fraud. In addition she told me my paycheck would be garnished and my bank account would be audited to prove the existence of the loan. She even knew I am on disability. Considering she told me my bank was Presidential I wished her luck. I've never even heard of that bank and I certainly have never had an account there, if it even exists. I informed her that another company is harassing me for a payday load and I've already filed a police report. She got very somber after that. I warned her that if her company even tried to garnish my disability check (Hah! No paycheck to garnish) I would be contacting the attorney general's office as it is illegal to garnish social security disability checks. Payday loans are also illegal in NJ so how could I have obtained one? Anyway, this company is itself committing fraud. Don't make the mistake of giving them any information and definitely don't give them any money!

- domoMy Mom received a call saying they were trying to reach my husband for an installment loan through Wells Fargo. We haven't had an account with them in over 12 years and it was a simple checking account when I was an employee. It was closed the same week I changed jobs. Also my name was the only one on it! When we called them back they refused to give us company information. We then called Wells Fargo who stated they have nothing on file and don't use a company called UBS Litigations for collection purposes. I then called them back and let them know of the information we did get. Also told them we would be contacting the BBB and letting our attorney know if we heard form them again. The lady ( who was the same person every time but gave us different names and used an accent once) gave me their address then which was PO Box 308 Hartford, Connecticut. She also told me the information they have been using to contact us which was over 12-15 years old. SCAM SCAM SCAM PEOPLE!
