they sent me a text message saying they had a job for me and i should call them at the number.

Me 2 I havent called yet kinda strange did you call? any luck?

I applied for a job online, yet the 855-816-5721 does not belong to the site I applied. Found out that 855 area codes are a scam.  I actually got a text message from them... did not replied and since its a pay as you go phone... I'm going to change my numbers. I will not give my phone on online applications and leave a pseudo e-mail for replies.  It looks like BS....   :P

Was it from IKEA? or did you applied to Ikea through a job posted online? I wonder what company you applied to....   ?

I too recd. text from 855-816-5721 re a job opportunity. I came across this page which was helpful in determining that the text was a scam. No reputable firm will send an unidentified text message re a potential job.

I too received a text for a job opportunity, thanks to this site, I wasn't given them the chance to scam.

I also received a text message wanting me to call about a job I had applied for but the text message gave no indication what company or job they are representing. I do recall applying for a job on one of the job boards that asked for contact information and highlighted that they preferred sending a text message. I am skeptical and not sure if I will call or not. I don't want my cell phone to suddenly start receiving unsolicited texts and calls.

I too received this text #. I applied for reputable jobs online and stated a text reply would be fine; HOWEVER, as another poster noted "No reputable firm will send an unidentified text message re: a potential job." I am not responding and will start putting my work # instead. It has voice mail so I have better options if there is a message.

I also got a text from this number after applying for a job on healthcarejobsite.com. The message is from AppTree. Didn't call back. The text was too suspicious. Entered STOP and it gave me a reply of: Unsubscribed to career-network alert.
