- texasusa| 4 repliesI have been getting calls today from this number after I already received a voicemail message from a restricted number three times this morning! This is apparently the same scam debt collector trying to fool me into answering the call. I am disgusted at the fact that they not only contacted my place of employment, gave information to my employer stating they were going to serve legal papers to me and asked when I was working next, but then also somehow contacted two of my family members and told them the same thing! It is quite obvious that they are in violation of the TXT and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. By the way, the are claiming this is due to fraudulent checks that I supposedly wrote. I haven't written a check in more than 10 years!

- babJust received 4 calls a row from this number. They answered and they never left any messages, assuming it's a scammer.
- LindaReceived call twice today. They never leave message.
- Patrick KelleherNo one answers phone. Several calls made.
- PeteI have gotten 3 of them on my cell phone
- AthenaP replies to texasusa| 3 repliesWas told I had filled out a job application online from one of their affiliated companies. Woman with thick Indian accent said the company name was called "Jobs Online". And asked me for what type of jobs I was looking for that would be sent to my online profile. I don't have a profile set up.
- LisaI receive the calls from this number every day. I do not pick up the phone.
- redroban replies to AthenaP| 1 replySimilar story... This number seems to have been a spam call based on my registering with a job hunting website, JobsRadar.com, that a friend had suggested trying. The first of these calls that I took, the person with the sales pitch was barely understandable. I've had multiple calls from 955-818-9623 now and have had to block the number.
JobsRadar.com only requested authorization to link to one sister job-search website. Nothing further. Not only did I find the site to be woefully set up, but I immediately started getting emails and phone calls from a variety of sources all trying to get me to sign up for education or for additional job-search websites and "opportunities". Wullo.com appears to be another such website riding the coat tails of my registration with JobsRadar.com, but via email, rather than phone.
As far as I'm concerned, JobsRadar.com has practiced underhanded tactics distributing information given to them in trust, and is not worth pursuing further. - MM replies to AthenaPThis is exactly what happened to me as well. I told her I was busy. Hopefully she won't call me back.
- IT/Comp guy/Geo| 1 replyThis is a method that crooks are now using ,...called "phone-pharming", ...similar to phishing schemes, ...except that once you answer the phone no one is there, ...they don't need to be. By you answering the call, you have allowed the attacker to plant a call forwarding device(in sophisticated script, exploiting the VoIP that all phone lines use) on your phone line or cell, ...its whats known as, "The man in the middle"...a third party now has entered your secure phone line, and can listen in, record sensitive data, such as bank transactions, ..and the list goes on and on, you get the idea. Ever wonder why you may have someone finally get through to your phone at some point, and ask you why your not answering your phone? Its because you didn't even know it was ringing, ...as all of your calls were being redirected for future use against you. Same thing happens on those junk text messages you get, saying you just won a free Dell laptop, .or, a thousand dollar gift card to Wal-Mart, ...as soon as you try to answer it back, and you don't even have to do that, .simply opening it can trigger it ..it has you. FACT: Section 4.3.1, of this link, please read: 4.3.1 Manipulating Vonage Call Forwarding Setup
The call forwarding of Vonage VoIP phones can be setup
by dialing a special number *72. The caller will be prompted
to input the phone number to which the incoming calls (to
the subscriber's phone) will be forwarded to. The input
phone number will be transferred via RTP event packets to
the Vonage RTP server. After the RTP server receives the
call forwarding number, it will acknowledge the call forward-
ing number and ask the subscriber for confirmation. Once
the subscriber confirms the input call forwarding number,
the call forwarding will take effect immediately. Posting the link for this theory for everyone, ...and please take the time to read. http://www.cs.ncsu.edu/faculty/jiang/pubs/SECURECOMM08.pdf Please be safe, Ty, Geo. - JaynetteI receive as many as 6 calls a day. Unless someone leaves a message I do not return calls.
I filled out one job application with Hyatt Hotels and Randstad handles their applications. Within half an hour I received about fifteen emails from job sites such as career build, jobs, indeed, etc.
So much for privacy of information. - G| 1 replyKeeps calling and leaves no message. Do not know this number, so will not answer the calls.
- GeneIt feels like every time I'm done on the phone with a family member, these scammers are calling. I don't even remember using a site called jobsradar.com... Do these people have nothing better to do than just call our phones all day, send us emails that are secretly attached with viruses, and just be annoying little 'you know what goes here'!
- Caller: JobsRadar.com
- Not important. What is important is that i recieved a call at 6pm this evening from this exact number, and again about 3 minutes ago as i was attempting to read the complaints about this # from this website. Now, i dont answer numbers that arent already on my contact list until they leave a name and the reason for their call. Even then, if their business doesnt sound even remotely familiar to any of my daily activities, then their voicemails get deleted on the spot. I can care less for whoever is using this number. And frankly, i really hope that the next person they prank call happens to be standing right next to them. Theres no need to elaborate on what should happen next. But i will say this. Its completely disgusting!
- John| 2 repliesI answer but do not say a word and set it down I do not hang it up and their program just runs for 20 some minutes and I am sure they get charged for this run time lol
- Caller: unknown
- John replies to John| 1 replyNope they wont be billed. 855 area code was created as a way for the receiver of the call to be billed. so those 20 mins are yours.
- Mike-in-MD replies to JohnCan you provide a valid source for your claim the receiver of the call is billed? All of the online sources state this is just another toll free prefix like 800, 888, 866 and 877. For those calls where the party called is charged, billing the party called without notification within the first minute of a call is illegal
- Elizabeth replies to redrobanI also just signed up with JobsRadar, and now this number calls twice a day. Lesson learned.
- cris in FLthis number (855-817-9623) called my cell phone but I did not pick up nor did they leave a message.
