Second such call from this number.  Comes in on a home phone we got with our internet company.  We have never used this number for anything when it comes to any financial obligations.  Obviously a scam.   I will be reporting it to the FCC.

Got the call today, a message left on my machine.  The recorded message said they were Stellar Recovery" and this was about a debt collection.  The number they left was the 855-802-5219 number.  I keep a very close eye on my credit & it's fine.  I have no intention of calling back.  I'm in the Seattle area, curious to know where everyone who is receiving this call is located, is it randomized around the country or targeted to a region?

    Cheers!

Calls home phone and leaves a msg for someone who I do not know, and I have had that home number for 18 yrs. I called them back and told them to take my number off their records, they said they would within 48 hrs, so I will see what happens.

    Can't Con Me
Stellar Recovery, a debt collection company scamming people.  My phone number is never used on anything or anyone I do business with.  It is a backup for my internet and cell phones when the service is down.  They have to have found my number by either a search engine of buying it from Fontier.  I don't have anything that would be in recovery.  Don't fall for these crooks!

Almost every day they come up with another number to harass people from. The 559 area code (Fresno,Ca.) is used to get the locals thinking "well, it's local so I'll pick up." It's a "number spoof" (one of many, I imagine within each area code they have their own spoofed LOCAL numbers) so you'll answer it because it's local and you'll also be curious to answer it! SAFETY RULE of THUMB = If you don't know the number calling you DON"T ANSWER IT!

    smarter than they are
This agency calls, most often using an "auto-dialer" to mask their true phone number and identity.  I onle mistakenly answered what appeared to be a local call, and while the operator proceded to verify my name and address; telling me "this is an attempt to collect a debt for Dish Network"  and "how would I like to pay; by debit, checking account or credit card...?"  She never once gave me her name, nor did she identify the company/agency she was calling for.  I refused to give her any payment information by phone; telling her to send me the required information by mail.  I haven't received anything via USPS yet, but they call my cell at least once a week, always from a different phone number.  I continue to block the number each time.

Thank you for all this valuable info you took the time to research, verify, and post! It has become very useful, especially the Federal gov sites like the FTC, FBI, etc... These basta*ds use a bunch of numbers and here a few that I've discovered:877-236-5791, 855-820-5219, 559-397-0523, 559-549-5083/91, & 559-840-4990. They most definitely are the Scumba*s known as STELLAR RECOVERY, a debt collector or bottom feeder! They keep calling my number for the people who had it 12-13 years ago! They tell me "that I know them and to stop protecting them", then they start screaming at me, which is when I tell to F' off and hang up or just leave the phone down but NOT disconnected that way they can't call out to others (I think). I'm purchasing a call blocker very soon!!
