- Jennifer| 2 repliesCrazy people are calling me from this number. Threatening me with being served papers. Threatening family members. If I can find out exactly who these people are and where they are located I will most definitely pay them a not so friendly visit. They claim to be a company called URG. They are threatening the wrong person!!! I will find you.

- KAT| 4 repliesA recording saying this is important legal matter for me. And if they hear from me today they will proceed by taking actions against me? Who are you people??????? Leave me the heck alone.

- KAT replies to KAT| 2 repliesAnd if they don't hear from me they will proceed
- guitarchickSame calls as above...robocall..important legal matter...if you don't call us today, a statement will be issued for you....huh? They were calling nonstop months ago. I filed FTC complaint. Calls stopped and have started again today.
- guitarchickI should add that when receiving calls previously, company claimed to be URG. When I asked for debt validation letter, I was told they do not have that info and when I pressed the issue they cussed me and hung up. Do not give these people any info! This has scam written all over it.
- mauigirlJust received the exact same message!! Poor quality recording and very unprofessional! Not falling for it!
- Call type: Debt collector
- FrustratedI got the same robo-call as well. I just hang up on them. A few months ago they were calling from a different number. Do they ever stop? They will take action against me? Really people? You robo-call people and we are suppose to hand over money...I don't think so. I wish there was a way to stop these people.

- Matt SullivanSame scam robo-call, only to my fiance's cell instead of mine. Same threatening message. I need to know if anyone has tracked down an address for these folks. If they are indeed in Macon, GA I want ti get the GBI involved and shut them down before anyone gets ripped off/harrased/threatened any further

- A guy with some old debt| 5 repliesThe company calling is a company that bought a boat load of debt very cheap in hopes to collect on some of the debt owed. They are calling your number because at some point your phone number got on the debt. If you call them back they can give you basic information regarding the debt. You can tell them that they have the wrong number and should stop calling. Again your phone number is on the debt for whatever reason. It's not a scam... They just want to get paid for the debt they purchased... My guess is they purchased the debt from a company to who purchased the debt and so on and so on... They will probably sell the debt to another company within 6 months. Best you can do is try to get your number removed from the debt, pay the debt or keep ignoring the calls.

- lpt replies to JenniferIf you need help please let me know too. Let's stop these perverts. They are calling friends, relatives, etc. They need to be put away. I'm sick of these crooks. I reported them to the FBI IC3 site too. Any other ideas, let me know. You ask for something in writing and they don't have it. Gee go figure. We already knew that they don't because I don't owe anyone anything.
- Matt Sullivan replies to A guy with some old debt| 1 replyEven if that were true, calling and threatening legal action, etc. or misrepresenting themselves as law enforcement, threatening warrants, and the like is all a violation of the FDCP and TPA. They are prosecutable for such conduct, so I want to track down the state they live in so I can start the process with their state AG's office
- lpt replies to A guy with some old debtThese people are a scam - don't owe money at all and got call. Checked with attorney also and said don't give them any information. They can't provide you with anything - block their calls. Want to go after but was told they move before they can be served.
- Bruce Mooney| 1 replyThey keep calling. We get the same message. Tried talking to them. They couldnt produce any paper work stating that we owe them anything. Also threatened us to send the sherriff to our workplace. All talk no action!

- KRIZ| 1 replyI've been receiving calls from this number even after informing them that I am not the person they are trying to contact. So i put their number in my block list, still they are leaving threatening voicemails everyday!! Today I decided to call them back, I was asking them to stop calling me since I AM NOT THE PERSON THEY ARE TRYING TO GET HOLD OF AND I DON'T HAVE ANY LEGAL MATTER TO DEAL WITH!!! GUESS WHAT THEY DID??? HANG UP ON ME WHILE I WAS STILL TALKING!!!!!! I want to report them to the authority.

- Shelly| 1 replythese people keep calling my 11yr old daughter and they need to stop. this is crazy. I know she had no bad debt. plz stop the called now!!!!
- Anonymous replies to ShellyThey will not do anything. Don't worry. Just try to play with them whenever they call. Mostly these people are from India and they are using proxy to call anonymously and try to scam the people who might have applied for payday loans over Internet.
- Jessica| 1 replyThese people are calling my cell phone and work phone. They even got a hold of my family, friends, and even in laws! They are threating me with physical harm and threating me with being arrested. They are telling my co workers that if they don't have me call them, then they are going to have me arrested and etc. they've even gone so far as to faxing threats to my work. What can I do to stop this?!!

- Elspeth replies to A guy with some old debtYes it is a scam, if they won't mail you the legally required (per FDCPA) documentation proving you owe the debt to them. Never pay money to anyone who refuses to send a debt validation letter proving you actually owe the debt and that they are legally entitled and licensed in your state to collect said debt.
- Elspeth replies to JessicaReport the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General. Record the calls if you can - let them know when they call that the FBI is monitoring and recording all calls they make to you.
If they refuse to send you a debt validation letter proving you owe the debt to them and that they can legally collect said debt in your state - tell them that per the FDCPA, you owe them nothing. It is illegal to threaten and harass like this. If they were a legitimate agency, they would have no problem sending you the debt validation. Also let your HR dept or manager know you're being harassed by scammers - print out one or two of these pages to give to them if need be.
Sometimes telling them you're recording all calls will get them to quit calling, but they'll probably only stop for a while and then try again. Don't let them get to you. Please also read about the FDCPA and learn your rights as a consumer. Knowledge IS power. - Lauriethese people continue to call and leave messages to call that they have to serve you with papers, well if they are legite and found your phone number you would think they could find your address they are also harassing my family members. I work in the debit card fraud industry and know company's like this one perhaps do this all the time and intimidate people and the people pay them because there scared and later the people find out this company and others like it never have paid the money to the people they claim there collecting for. Be sure to ask for written proof before you pay them anything and tell them if there really legal they should have your info to send the proof in writing. Check your credit report to, if its a collection it should be on there. If its been charged off or settle, then the original creditor sold it off and its already against your credit as a charge off or settlement.
