got a call today from brown and goldstein handling a claim for me? anyone else get a call not sure what this could be and tried looking up the company and theres one attorneys office in maryland .. www.browngold.com ... or theres one in new york.. www.brownandgoldstein.com so has anyone else heard from them???

I received a call today from the same company asking me to settle with them on some payday loan.. I asked them to send me paper work on what I owe them and they said that they couldn't. Not sure about this, I think it is a scam... They were threatening to take me to court..

Typical debt collector nonsense -
Refusing to MAIL paperwork - illegal!  If they really had a claim it would be coming to you (They have 5 days to comply).
Taken to court - you are NOT warned if that is happening - and the collector would have top give his information (company name, address, etc.)- something they do not want to do.

Have received several calls from this number. Threatening to take me to court. They even called my workplace .. One call the man was even eating!!

This number called and left a voice mail for me today to let me know that there was a summons for me to go to court- they wanted to know my address, so they could send it to me (LOL really?! shouldnt you know that information? if your taking me to court for bad debt?) They called back immediately- I answered They told me that it was in regards to a debt from Kay's Jewelers ( I have never had a Kay's card) I told the person on the phone that I knew this was a scam number, the line went dead and they have not called back.
