Keeps harrasing me

do you know who these people what do they want? i just got a call from them but i hang up on them

McCarthy Burgess and wolf collection

They ae a nuisance, they call from 5 different numbers and i blocked them. They even called from a number to make it look like a local number.

They called me several times and I want the calls to stop..

This is a discussion forum where one can report or describe suspicious or unknown phone calls, but reporting them here does not stop the calling.  YOU have to take action to do that!  (google is your friend).  Consider buying a call blocker from your favorite store if nothing else works.

i know this is a trick, i have recieved over six dozen calls from different numbers not includong repeated numbers. do not answer this number.

Called but left no message.

I changed my phone # because of telemarketers, collection calls for people I never heard of, and then attempted collect calls (2 same day) from prisons! Now the new number is even worse, many times more calls though so far no prisoners...it would be a nightmare to try and follow all the threads and make all the complaints which I feel are ignored anyway as I have been on the Do Not Call list for both numbers (it is worthless, I think they sell your number)! Angry this morning, can you tell? :-(

Just found that this morning's call was from McCarthy Burgess and Wolf collections. This is a new number, don't owe anybody any money. I also NEVER pick up the phone any more. I have Cox so friends and family know another private # they can reach me on and I can check phone history online at Cox and find the numbers that called then Google to get more information such as this site. The anger persists however as I should have control over my phone. Am an elderly person with a very low fixed income so I don't tack on all the services that should be free but are added charges such as call blocking, caller ID and others but Cox should provide those services as a part of phone service I feel. The only reason I leave the line alone is to make local calls i.e. merchants and other misc that I wouldn't want to routinely give out my number to (so they can sell it and add to the list of scammers who call me) and for 911 calls if needed so 911 could locate my home if I had a stroke or something. This world is so full of scams it has become a place I no longer recognize. :-(

Received repeated phone calls from this number (always hung up without leaving a message). Finally I called them and they took me off the call list - the former owner of this number has about a million debts, lucky me! They haven't called back, so maybe just answer and inform them you're not the party they're looking for

This "collection" company called and left a message on my corporate cell phone that my employer pays for and is the cell phone that I only use to make calls for work. Such a scam.

The number on my caller ID was 855-832-8033.

Received  a call on my work blackberry going to report them

Keeps calling my home phone.  Never leaves a message. I am on the Do Not Call List.  I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

My husband is getting calls in his cell phone from this same 855 832 8033 number but they are looking for me. this all sounds very suspect as I have my own number and would never use his to set up any accounts or anything. I see that it's some sort of collection agency but they don't sound like legitimate folk.

These losers called my cell phone incessantly. I finally answered, listened to their BS spiel about how I owed Verizon money, and were astonished to find out I've been with AT&T or Comcast for the past 14 years. Losers. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR BS> It's a Hoax!

This number has called me several times and never leaves messages. Once I picked up, and there was silence and a hang-up. I finally called it back, and sure enough, it was McCarthy, Burgess, and Wolf. I was asked my name, which I refused to release until I know what this call is about. This really pissed off the scammer on the other end as she started yelling at me saying: "Why would I give you any info if I don't know who I'm speaking to?!?" Shady! I told her to taker off the list, and she replied: "I need your name to know who I'm taking off the list." If this were legit, she'd know my name. It's a total scam. We have never been Verizon customers and owe nothing. I'm so frustrated right now. What can be done??

She began the call Trying to verify the last 4 digits of my social...I refused...then she tried to verify an address which was also was wrong but when I said you are not getting any info frOm me,she hung up.
Obviously criminal, identity theft, beware.

The call every darn day - won't answer their call.  Want to get off of their list.

Calls my cell everyday. I blocked the number but it still gets through to my voicemail. I am tired of it.
