This number is calling saying they are try to serve me court summons for a civil case. When I call them back they say it is a breach of contract case from 2007. They claim they will take me to court or I can settle now. When I request more information they get very rude. I finally said serve me and I will see you in court

Yes, this is a well worn tactic by criminals pretending to be process servers.  They want to embarrass your ex husband into paying them extortion money.

This guy said he was a law firm collecting a debt from 2002 from household bank. He said I would be issued a summons at home or place of work. I don't remember having a line of credit from household bank. Is this a scam or what, any feed back would be appreciated.

How well would that work if receivers were forewarned about being served a summons, warrants, arrests, etc.,.? You'll be served alright, but it'll be from Invisible law enforcement. BigA already answered that also. Nothing to worry about.~I Was Prepared~JustinCase

Why would you freak out? Your caller is a FRAUD! The fool is referencing a supposed debt that is 16 yrs. old. Have you never heard of the Statutes of Limitations? A debt that old is time-barred in practically ALL states! In addition, now that you've talked to this SCAMMER, the weasel now has 5 days to mail you a letter stating his claims. As per the FDCPA. The SCAMMER will NOT do so. He knows that doing so might be construed as mail fraud & that's something that SCAMMERS do NOT want to toy with.
Ignore calls from this number. Block them if you're able to.

This is the message I keep getting from these people:
This is investigator Davis with the County Legal Service Office. I've attempted to notify chassidy-knight(?) in of a court summons twice but-you've(?) been unreachable. I will make my final attempt on Tuesday June 5 at your residence or your place of employment. If you need to reschedule or if you have questions pertaining this matter you will need to contact the petitioner directly at 855-857-2596. Your file reference number is C as in Charlie 44549. Failure to respond sign for your summons will result in a being held in civil content. Also love(?) the county will assess the $75 marshal(?) fee for each attempt that I've....

Got the same call from Investigator Morris about attempting to serve legal docs or getting fined $75. Said they tried to serve docs but noone home, and docs sent back to them with direct refusal. No one was home cause haven't lived there in 16 years. If not home, how can it be a direct refusal? Dumb.

Call came from a 'restricted' number, and the message informed the receiver to call 'their petitioner' at 855-857-2596. Caller identified self as Investigator Edwards calling for a court summons. Caller did not identify the court that issues the summons, or give any indication of location or address. Case number was 7 digits long and in the format of 0000-000. Unlikely to be legitimate due to officer or court failing to disclose city and state location for the summons. The call is designed to cause the receiver to believe that they are in trouble, as the investigator claims that they will show up at your residence or workplace if the caller does not contact the number specified. They make it sound as legit as possible, but would have more information if they actually were. If I do call them back, it would be for no other purpose than to vent the week's frustrations on them.

Do not, i repeat, do not give any personal info and especially do not give them any $! Period!!! Ask for a verification letter/itemized statement/something with your signature. Depending on what state you live(mine is a state of confusion, lol,) the statute of limitations is usually 10 years. So please do some research but do not be freaked out or scared/threatened into paying! Especially if they tell you you have to pay with debit card!!

Got several calls from 855-246-0395. Jordan Riley with CITY SERVE, called saying she was scheduled to come to my home/work place to serve me legal docs on a civil matter between 3-5pm, make myself available!!! Yea RIGHT!! I'm going to be sure I'm available to get served legal ppwk! Kick rocks somewhere else!! I called the number, ms Riley? Was out of office so I spent the next 30 mins of my life(which I can never get back!) asking what this is about. Said WELLS FARGO BANK wants to sue me for an acct ending with 3005 for $1200+ from about a decade ago. He had no info but wanted me to make arrangements to pay half of it and WFB would not file in court. Told him send me proof of debt and I will look into it. Was adamant about me making payments right then and there!! Well needless to say, I got him do upset and flustered, he hung on me!!! The audacity! Lol. Did some research on this CITY SERVE, and found several scams going on. I recently called that number and there isn't even a ring! It's just dead air!! Call TRUMP and tell you're going to serve him! You'll get TRUMPED IN YOUR RUMP!

What "statute of limitations" are you referring to?

    ScamfedUP replies to Tygerkat
Just like crimes, unpaid debts also have a time limit or statute of limitations.  Depending on the debt (ie: breach of contract, unpaid invoices for services rendered etc.), all have time limits in which it can be pursued; either by the business itself, a collection agency or law firm who intends to sue if not taken care of ASAP. Check out your states statute of limitations on certain types of debts and most top out at 10 years. Meaning if the debt is over 10 years old, in lots of states, it is no longer collectable and anyone/agency trying to collect or sue, can be sued. So like I said before, do your own research; cause it could save you s lot of $ in the end.
