This is happening for days now, they call and a recorded left a message stating that is from Canada Revenue and that I have a legal action against my name (doesn't say my name) and for me or my lawyer to call back. When I call back they answered right away saying is from Canada Revenue and asked my information (that I did not provided) when I asked his extension number he said this was his direct number. Please be aware this is a scam do not answer the phone.

Same problem, it cannot be Revenu Canada because their toll free number is always 1-800, 1-877, 1-888 be aware!!!!

Also the message is only in english, and here in Canada you will always have french and english version of a message.

I got the exact same message as Su.  I phoned the number back right away, and it rang about 8 times before it was answered by a guy.  I asked to speak to Lisa, who had phoned me, and he
at first didn't know who I was asking for, and then said, oh, she must be busy.  He wanted my name, and then I just hung up on him.  This was the third time this week they have phoned me.

This is the 3rd time I've received the robot call this week.

why can't the phone companies do something about the these scammers instead of raising our phone bill ?

I have received this message every day for a week.   No way am I calling back.   Canada Revenue would never have recorded messages like that.....SCAM for sure

I just got this call in Alberta with the recorded voice saying they had legal action against me and either I or my lawyer had better call them or face legal action.  I immediately searched the number before they were even done leaving the message so thanks everybody for posting on it so that I knew it was a scam.

Left a msg today saying it was Revenue Canada. IT'S A SCAM!!!  The message was only in English (not bilingual), and Revenue Canada sends everything documented via mail (Canada Post) not on voicemail. Furthermore, Revenue Canada would NEVER tell you or your lawyer to call them - they won't divulge any of your private Tax information to anyone but you. Plain + simple = SCAM.

They call before 7 in the morning. I have finally blocked the number in my phone just so I don't have to hear it ring at 6:30am. If the phone is ringing at that hour of the morning somebody better be in hospital or have died!

This is second call from the robot lady claiming some sort of response to legal action with Revenue Canada. The first number was 844 434-0127 the second was 855 881-8196 with the same ladies voice and same message. No names or file references were given. It seems like some sort of scam and others have heard of it. I have had many calls from an outfit claiming they are Micro-Soft and when reported to the real Micro-Soft they will give you a case number after denying they would ever actively call you. This must be the same sort of deal where revenue Canada would never call you with a recording without them knowing your name and so on.

A phone message threatening legal action if don't call back ...

Total scam same nonsense call from various numbers claiming that there is some tax fraud lawsuit filed. Doesn't even mention CRA.
