A separate company called ,said they needed to know if I would be available to receive some kind of court papers. When I asked what it was about , the woman gave me another number to call for the information.

Not sure who was calling but it was a call for my mom. Apparently they wanted to send some documents and was asked to appear at court the next day.  Not sure if its a scam.  I called the number 855-883-2053 and it said the company was called CIG, however it was closed.  Anyone receiving these?

Of COURSE it's a scam!
Nobody legitimate calls ahead telling you they're serving you papers.
Block their number.  Do not talk to these crooks.

Called me and two other people in my family asking for my address and other info about me. Tried to call back but there was no answer.  Very strange and invasive - definitely some kind of scam. Don't give them any info.

I just got a call from a restricted number. They were asking for my dad and said that I was the number listed for him. They said he should call this number so they can redirect his legal documents. They were going to serve him court papers? They knew his name and where he lived. I thought it was strange that they had my number.

Me too. I don't get it. They didn't ask me for any info. And they called from a restricted number asking for my dad.

DO NOT TELL THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING ABOUT YOU!  And definitely DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!   Do call contact your state Attorney General's office and report these calls.  They gain access to people's credit reports and contact them regarding old or phony debts, hoping you will be scared by their threats and send money.

Just got a call from 885-883-2053. Calling from a private number. Saying I am going to be serve court papers.  I  don't know why. All I can say it's  a scam. Scams comes around the holidays.

This company contacted us yesterday stating we would be served a summons if we did not make a full payment for a debt by December 31.  Yesterday they told us the name of the company was CIG...the answering machine states that the company is CIG. Due to my suspicions,  I called again today from another number and the receptionist  answered, "Hello, how may I direct your call?" When asked what the name of the company is she  stated its First Management Group.  I asked for a physical address, I was provided with 650 N Rose Dr Suite 702 Placentia, CA 92807.  Of course I googled the address, a UPS store came up but no CIG or First Management Group.  I have searched for both company names and nothing has come up.  Certainly a legitimate debt collector would have a valid address and website.  I'm close to certain this is a scam.  If you so choose to pay them, first ask for a debt validation letter by US Mail, not email.
