Credit card call don't have card with them

Received a voice mail message from Barclay Card-Master Card Worldwide.  Since I'd not have a Barclay Card, I am ignoring the call as an obvious scam.  The number showing as the origin of the call was 855-900-7878.

Got a call from them earlier today and they left a voicemail. Being a youngster that just got their first credit card and bank account, I panicked but then was weary when I never said what account it was. Glad I googled it.

Yup I got the same call tonight around 8:15pm. I do have a Barclay CC but did not enter any numbers as requested. I did call Barclay Card security and they are totally aware of this scam

Received this recorded called yesterday. FRAUD. I don't have a MasterCard and surely not with the Barclay company.

Glad I checked with you all...I received a similar call. Same phone number 855-900-7878 but different CC company - not Barclay. The name was muffled but it sounded more like Foxy Card USA. They said they were reporting fraudulent activity on my account so a hold had been placed for my protection. I needed to call them so they could verify the activity. Scary part is my online bank account is strangely down...says the "system unavailable. Please call customer service."  Coincidence or hacked?   This is a weekend so I have to wait until Monday to get in touch with the bank.

Same scam,as usual...why can't someone shut them down?

I also received a message from Barclay card services.  I panicked a bit but the only mastercard I have is with my debit account.  These people need to be stopped!  There is a barclay card service out of the UK.

I received a call from this number yesterday while I was shopping. Figured I would look into it when I got home because I do have this particular card. I made my purchase with said card while shopping and the charge went through. This morning I called the number ON THE BACK OF MY CARD and asked them about the message I received. They told me nothing was wrong with my account and there is no record of the company attempting to contact me. I gave them the number to verify if it was one of their phone numbers and they told me it wasn't because their company does not use any phone numbers with a 855 zip code.

Got an automated call from "Barkley" or "Barclay" it was unclear saying my world Mastercard had possible fraudulent activity and had been put on temporary hold.  I don't have a MC with Barkley or Barclay or whoever.  Glad to see these other posts indicating this is a scam!

Received automated phone message.  Stated they were with Mastercard World Card.  Stated that account was placed on hold -- scam.  If they call you, don't call back -- call your REAL Credit Card company and let them know.

Got the same message and thought I'd check out the number before doing anything else. I also figured it was a scam as I don't have a MasterCard.

I got a call from this number on Saturday saying that my account has been locked. I do not own this card and I checked my accounts online and did not see a hold or any issue anywhere.  

I got a call from an unknown number today asking for my social security number to verify my account - NO WAY did I provide this info.  

I too recieved the exact message,  Barclay Bank, suspicious activity on my account, call them immediately,  card is frozen. Aldo message said " if you recieve a text,  disregard call. SO, I SUGGEST ANY BARCLAY EMAIL,  REPORT AND SPAM."!, there was a credit card company years ago, Barclay bank, but
I do not know, certainly doubt the authenticity! !

Got Urgent Message from "MasterCard." Too bad I don't have one. I am glad "They" detected fraud on a card I do not carry.
