This is a scam, talks about serving papers, and never shows up.

Threatened to serve papers and embarrass my husband at work or garnish my husbands wages.  This was related to a  Western Sky internet loan from 4 years ago and the state of Alabama has declared  the repayment on those loans null and Void!!!

This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

This a huge scam why don't more people make a complaint with the goverment  I just did the more info they can the more they can do. Every one no your rights Google this scam  do not pay scammers.

Bad part is I already paid them and when I failed to  do so on  10/20 a female called here from a private number claiming to serve papers tomorrow, I have been sick but started doing research and found out alot.  I'm ready for that [***] to call me today, kinda looking forward to it !!!  😉

The funny thing about these calls is what is the first thing they want to verify before they can tell you what the call is about? Your Social Security Number. This is a total scam for them to get your personal information. Block the call and don't respond. There is nothing legally they can do. It was a blocked number and his voicemail was to call a different number
