Block this caller. Scammer!

BEWARE .... just received a missed call that did not sound taped. I believe it was a live person who left the following message: "Good morning, my name is Michael with All ????? Services calling on behalf of USAA. I'm calling to inform you that we recently received a copy of the inspectors estimate for damages to your home. A letter regarding your coverage and deductible has been sent to your email address along with a copy of the inspectors estimate. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 855-925-5228, ext. 3014. Thank you very much for your membership and have a great day."

It is possible that this MAY be legit and called a wrong number .... but I don't think so. IMO this is some type of SCAM with fraud involved at the very least ... and possible start of identity theft.

Suspicious from the get-go as I do not have any pending insurance claim and do not have USAA for our homeowners insurance ...... , but in closing I believe they are hoping they have a HIT on someone who does have USAA insurance that will call to find out what this is about. Why is there no reference number given by company??? for easy LOOK-UP .... because ... they are phishing. People and companies involved with stealing your identity, information, fraud, etc ... will get the information from YOU. Based on the message left for me ... I would have to give my name ... address ... policy number .... probably phone .... oh and what if they can't find it with that .... ? they will dig deeper into getting more personal information from you.

This is a legitimate number and message. We have USAA and submitted a claim and received this same message. They must have dialed the wrong number. I always check unknown phone numbers we receive on this site!  Finally one isn't a scam!

If that is true, tell us
* What was the message.
* A USAA website address that contains this number (to prove who called)
* How you know this number was not spoofed or faked, and actually came from USAA

Otherwise, your statement is unsupported, and highly suspicious.

Upon further examination, I could find NO USAA contact phone number that is an 855 number

This message was from a company called ALLCAT, which is a service provider for USAA. We got the exact same message after we filed a claim for hail damage, and our estimate was emailed to us shortly after the message. Most likely anyone who blocks this number probably isn't waiting for an estimate from USAA or if they are waiting and block the number, the estimate will be emailed to them.

It's the company that takes care of wind and hail damage claims for USAA it's not a scam.

Actually this is a legitimate call.  We receive a call today from USAA/this number. It was to notify us that the insurance payment for our damage from hurricane Irma was being sent. It directed us to check our account online which I did. I was able to confirm the information in the voicemail.

...except what people seem to forget is that scammers routinely spoof legitimate numbers!  Your call may have been legitimate, this doesn't mean it is legitimate for others!

Well if was a "legitimate call", and you know who called and why because they left a message which you checked online, then what was your purpose in taking the time to look up the number on the web?  If you already knew everything you needed to know about the phone number and the call there would have been no need.  However, if you want people to think that it is safe to pick up this call and divulge information and payment, that would be another matter.

This is legitimate. It's ALLCAT that does the adjuster inspections/Reports for Home Owners Claims.

The message and phone call comes from Allcat Claims who works on behalf of USAA for their claims.

It is a legitimate USAA affiliated vendor -- Allcat Claims.  They process inspections and claim check processing for USAA.  I just completed a roof repair that they facilitated.  Everything went fine.
Received a follow-up call from this number on 4/26/18 just verifying that the work was completed, the roofer was paid and the claim would be closed.

This is a valid USAA call. They called me yesterday regarding a question I had.

Asking for information. That they are a usaa out source company. Be careful.

Caller is legit, he is a third party adjuster with USAA Claims Dept. For me he was  hard to understand so I went back to USAA and got the information clearly.  I asked about the called because the number was not what we expect from USAA,  the agent at USAA  explained it was a third party verifying the claim.
