I received a call from a woman who said , " A legal action is pending against you," gave me Attorney Michael Harris' name, a case #, and a number to call.

He had my SS#, my current address, said I owed $$ from 2014, and that I could pay by credit card right now, or face legal proceedings and pay a larger amount.

He almost had me duped, but having read this thread, I have re-thought my actions.

This is most definitely a scam!!!

Received same kind of call with exact verbatim.

I received a VM from "Vanessa @ the process server's office" (855-994-0178)
Said that documents were returned cuz they have a different address on file. She suggested I call attorney Michael Harris w/ this fake Criminal case # to avoid further action. I googled Mike Harris Miami attorney,  and he shows up as an immigration lawyer. I'm a US citizen,  so flags went up.  Googled his phone number, and luckily found these posts.  THANK YOU. .

Exact same story except the lady stated her name was Victoria. They're looking for my uncle who passed away in January.

Got same voicemail from a Charlie Adams for Michael Harris attorney. A simple google search proved no such layer in this county and also pulled up this link where others reported similar spam calls.
Hopefully more people will google search first instead of falling for these scams. And slightly thankful these scammers aren't more creative than using the same generic names over and over.
