The woman said she was a technician with computer company (I did not understand the name).  She was getting signals from my computer and wanted to connect to it to locate the problem.  Caller had a heavy accent and very hard to understand.  I told he I was not interested but she would not give up.  I told her I had thrown away my computer thinking that would stop the company from calling back again.  So, I just hung up.

I knew it was scam before I even answered. Man with heavy accent. Said he was getting "notifications signals" from my laptop and they wanted to stop them but had to ask me some questions so they could get it fixed! ??? He said he was with some phony sounding name export company. I asked him if he wanted to repair my computer since that's what they all say and he said no and just kept going on about the signals from my computer. I told him I knew it was a scam and I was reporting it. He got very angry and said it wasn't a scam and then I got bored with him and hung up. Wish I knew who they were.

It was from person with Indian accent.  He said my computer was giving out error messages and was causing terrible problems.  I hung up on him and he called back.  I told him to hold on for a minute and i would transfer him to RCMP office.  After 30 seconds i heard a click.  What a persistant person.

Caller is trying to hook into your computer to steal your identity...they try and use scare tactics stating that your laptop is infected and will request that you go to a " Go to Meetings" type page where they can  then be given the code to enter "fix the problem"  THEY ARE THE PROBLEM! Anyone who has used or purchased System Mechanics from IOLO are targets of these scammers....

Yep!  Same here.  Funny that they knew I had a virus before I did.  Once I hung up on them I started having keyboard problems with letters racing across the board.  And now, letters race across the board even with the keyboard upplugged.  I suspect company planted the virus and then made the call trying to extort cash for a fix.

Admitted he was from India and gave bogus company name PC Experts. Had different company name and location when they called me the week before and the week before that. These people are not only scammers but they are also very bad at the game. I just hear the voice now when they pick up and tell them my computer is fine and that doesn't deter them one bit!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could hold the country who host these spammers responsible? Judging by accents alone we can all guess they're from around the globe. Probably India, or some other south east Asian country.

I actually had a pretty good time with the guy. He said his name was Peter then Bob (no way) and kept saying something was wrong with my computer.

I acted like him and I shared a $10,000 bet with the Lions over the Packers and that our bookie was looking for us. He actually kind of played along but still tried to get me to go to my computer.
