    Received an email containing this number. It was made to look like it came from Amazon, telling me that the $700 TV I ordered from Amazon was being shipped to a person unknown to me in Texas. What would have happened if I called to say that I didn't order this TV? Were they after my credit card information? Phishing scam? Don't know, but these days we have to be careful.

    That or they would have wanted remote access to your computer to "cancel" the order.  Amazon does not call, always sends emails but you need to inspect those carefully to ensure they really are from Amazon as scammers are faking those too.  They use domain names that look close to the real Amazon website name that can fool the unwary.
