Keep getting calls from this #. I get a different response from what company they are with. I called the number 7 times and talked to diff people each time. One says they r with Best Buy, another says, Geek Squad, another says McAfee, and on and on. They want you in front of your computer so they can have remote access to cancel a $299 subscription. Block their number and write them up on this and all other sites.

Same call - trying to get me to call back to cancel a subscription for $299. I don't have a block option on my landline. So irritating and I fear so many will fall for this.

Called my landline and left partial message on my land line so I don't know the name of the 'company'. Same as above about a 'subscription'. I don't allow any subscriptions to be auto debited out of my account. I don't buy anything online or put any personal info on my computer because the stress isn't worth it.

Received a call from this number several times today. I decided to call back and some Indian guy was telling me I had a Geek Squad subscription for my computer and that I had to cancel today or I would be charged $299. He said they closed in 30 minutes. I thought maybe my husband set it up so this guy is going to call me back when my husband returns from work because I wouldn't cancel it without him. After the call, I confirmed with my hubby that this is bogus, so I googled it. Boy, is this guy going to get an ear full if he dares to call me back.

This number called twice in 90 minutes.  Both times it was the same cancel your subscription for $299.99 crap.  Both times I hung up.  My advice is to report this scam to donotcall.gov and whatever your local jurisdiction has set up, in addition to logging on 800notes.com, of course!  ;-)

Scam call.  Billing Department (doesn't say the company's name) is going to charge you $299 for a subscription (doesn't say what the subscription is for) unless you call their toll-free number.

Only a Scammer would want Remote Access to give a Refund.

Never allow anyone Remote Access unless you know them to be reputable and you contacted them first! Scammers can lock you out and hold your computer ransom with Syskey (Microsoft SAM Lock Tool).

Help spread the word and prevent someone from becoming a victim.

    Fact:
    • ANYONE who calls or emails you and says your computer called/contacted them is a SCAMMER.
    • ANYONE who calls or emails you and says your online server called/contacted them is a SCAMMER.
    • Windows Operating System licenses do not expire.
    • ANYONE who calls or emails you with a message about your computer having illegal activity, is a SCAMMER.
    • Apple will never, ever call you about alleged suspicious iCloud activity.
    • ANY Tech Support Warning pop-ups you get while accessing the internet asking you to call a number or visit a website, is from a SCAMMER.
    • Web Browsers DO NOT have the ability to determine and warn you your computer has an error. They can only warn you about a potential malicious website. A Browser is software that allows you to surf the Internet, not diagnose a computer or phone.
    • ANY Tech Support company that insists you need their services because of some error, outdated software or tries to convince you that you need to allow them remote access is a SCAMMER.
    • Nobody could possibly know if your computer or devices have an issue unless you tell them or gave them access.
    • Tech Support companies DO NOT call or email to give out refunds because they are "going out of business", or to "cancel a subscription".  Companies DO NOT give refunds unless they have to.
    • Companies DO NOT call to inform you that your subscription will be charged if you don't call back, only SCAMMERS do that. If you have a subscription with someone, they automatically charge you until you cancel it and they don't give a refund.
    • Only a Scammer would want Remote Access to give a Refund.
    • 3rd party Tech services DO NOT include Email account repairing or password resetting, since they can not access the email server unless it belongs to them.

Please read about how Tech Support Scammers operate the scams and warn everyone possible about them.

Those calling do not check here for messages. See Mike's post above.  If your post is removed, it is due to you including a link the scammers, which is dangerous to others and against site TOS.
