Male who does not identify himself.  Speaks in harsh authoritarian voice stating this is my last chance, I have been notified.  Says calling with firm handling my case regarding allegations against me (he's trying to sound very threatening, and this is very, very bad to use intimidation tactics to get me to call back).  Never identifies firm, and only provides case number and phone number to call back with.  Calls repeatedly, leaves a message, and then keeps calling back after a voicemail has been left.  This is in direct violation of Fair Debt Collections Act.  Once a collector leaves a message, they cannot continue to call back.  If they do not leave a message they can repeatedly call you all day.  This is a debt collector, yet to be identified, who is willing to use intimidation and violate consumer protection rights to collect a debt.  Proceed with caution, and be ready for rude representatives, if you call them.  Read up on your rights and responsibilities, and the collector's as well.  This company seems more then willing to bend those rules to get you to pay, do not be bullied.

Replying to my previous post.  Took a chance and called them, got a automated menu system which identified the company.  They are United Capital Group.  Here is a link for info and I haven't even got through all of the google info I pulled up.  http://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/i-received- ... up-1481396.html

It appears they are a nasty collection agency willing to do all it takes to make you pay.  There is a hidden side to collections, they can make a tremendous amount of money off of debt.  If you get a call make them identify the debt, the balance owing and who the debt originated with.  THEY HAVE TO INFORM YOU IF YOU ASK!!  If legal charges are to be brought against you THEY HAVE TO INFORM YOU WHAT COURT THE CHARGES WILL BE FILED IN!!  THEY HAVE TO KNOW THIS BEFORE THEY CAN FILE CHARGES!!  If they cannot give you any of this information, or refuse to do so, then do NOT continue to communicate with them.  Ask for a correspondence address (it appears they will not provide that, but ask anyway), if they do not give you one google for one and send a certified letter (usually just a couple of dollars with the USPS) requesting this information.  File a complaint with the BBB on the BBB's website (super easy to do) and provide the same information you provided in your letter, along with what you requested over the phone and what the agent told you.  This way if anything legal does occur you have a paper trail where you made reasonable efforts to contact them and have a two way discussion.  I can't guarantee anything, but it's always best to cover your butt if you feel you should continue to work with these crooks.

Found this while googeling this company.  http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/debtpro123-debt-resolution-aliso-viejo-c235704.html

I used to work in collections for a credit card company, and heard about companies like this.  Customer's would get calls from us because we hadn't received payment in months.  They would tell us they signed up with a debt resolution company and were sending them huge payments.  These companies would tell the customer that they had worked out a settlement and that they would forward the money onto the debtors.  This of course never happened, and customers were pretty much screwed from that point on.  Do not work with UGC, it is a scam and they will ruin you.
