When caller ID displays  "out of area" or "unknown" or "private" then I pickup the phone but I never speak a word....instead I set the phone to "Mute" until they finally hang-up after hearing nothing but silence on my end.  

Call came in at 3:30 but no message left.  Quite likely another one of the REYNOLDS FAMILY of Texas SCAM 'Charities' hawking Veteran's aid ("American Veterans Support Foundation" and "American Veterans Support Fund"), Breast Cancer ("Breast Cancer Financial Aid," "Breast Cancer Support Fund" 413-241-3302 and 413-306-4014) or  "Children's Cancer."  ALL are RUSES to ENRICH no one but the REYNOLDS FAMILY themselves; LESS THAN 2% finds its way to anyone else, and usually in USELESS 'benefits; like paper plates and other such nonsense.  BLOCK.  REPORT.

We got a call from this number today at 5:43 pm and didn't answer. The caller ID was UNKNOWN NAME. This is a new number for the same scam and will be added to our call blocker. Earlier numbers were 857-209-2708 and 857-362-8302. This is what I wrote on November 30 regarding a call from 857-362-8302: When I called back (our caller ID is hidden by default on outgoing calls) I heard a recording which began with "Hello" and didn't continue until I replied. This time I replied in Spanish, and the recording continued. It wouldn't have mattered what language I spoke or even what I said. It's a very sophisticated system which is apparently intended to make the caller believe he or she is talking to a live person. The speaker gives his name and says he is calling for the American Veterans Support Foundation. This is a new number for the same scam and will be added to our call blocker. They certainly must get a lot of money to be able to afford such  a system.

WHY is there an American Cancer Society ad on this page?  Is THAT who is calling us from this number (or a TELEMARKETER on their 'behalf?')  Considering they get only a TWO our of FOUR star rating on CharityNavigator.org, we would be hard-pressed to donate to them, ESPECIALLY seeing the FUNDRAISING COSTS/Revenue ratio which is like 60%.  That means they use PAID TELEMARKETERS that take as much a **80%** of one's donation and we DO NOT GIVE to those so-called 'charities' that do that.  Besides, ACS is just part of the BIG PHARMA/CORPORATE Health Care MACHINE who are the ORIGINAL SCAMMERS/FRAUDSTERS that cares little to NONE for the true victims of cancer: the PATIENTS and their families.

We got a call from this number again today at 7:15 pm. This time it was blocked by our call blocker. If they again start using a new number, it will also be added.

These people are persistent! I have told them to eliminate from their perspective victims list!

id as Boston but I am sure the call originated from elsewhere.  I agree with other posters and would never
give a dime to these so-called charity outfits.  No matter how many get exposed they manage to pop-up
elsewhere within a few weeks.  If you talk to them or give them any money you will end up with hundreds
of calls -- all begging for more of your money.

This number shows up on my answering machine several times a week, even after 9:00 PM. No message left, how to stop it.

Caller id shows "Call from Boston  MA", a fake call, not even left voicemail.

We got a call again from this number yesterday, 21 Dec 2014, at 6:49 pm and it was blocked by our call blocker just as it was when they called on 15 Dec. The caller ID is still UNKNOWN NAME. The first time they called was 13 Dec, after which the number was added to our call blocker. I highly recommend getting such a device to avoid these annoyances.

Same experience.  Nobody answers when you pick up.   Get a call from this number almost everyday

Got another call from this number...have had several of these over the past few months.  I did report the number, obviously it didn't help!
