Number comes up, ID reads as San Diego, no on leaves message.  Called about 3 times...probably some type to phoney debt collector looking for victims.

This number called me for the first time this morning,a Saturday at 8:00 AM sharp.Same as first post,ID reads San Diego.Left no message.I have caller ID and an answering machine for a reason.Unless it's someone I know,I don't answer.If it's important,they'll leave a message.

I got a call this morning from this number, also, but I am 49 years old and have never had a late payment on anything in my life, so I don't know who they are but they didn't leave a message.  I'm like "Tired of this crap" - I don't answer if I don't know the name/number, either.

Came up on our caller I'd as portfolio recovery. Didn't answer it. Plus they didn't let it ring for very long...

Same as above but the call to my number came in @ 8:30...must've been too busy calling the above. If it is indeed another number from which Portfolio Recovery is calling, (my ID said San Diego as well) this is the fifth number I have been called from attached to this cesspool. They are attempting to convince me that I owe a debt on a Penney's cc that I paid off nearly 12 years ago. When I asked that I get documentation from the original creditor, they hang up. Fed up with the scammers.....

If a creditor needs money from a client that bad they should send a certified letter.

Just googled this number.  It's another of the many numbers being used by Portfolio Recovery.  It says San Diego, but it is actually La Jolla CA.  Let the phone ring until it self-explodes.  I google every single number that calls  before I even consider answering.  Check with you local phone company.  For a very small fee you can have all 800, 855, 866, 877, 900, international, private and unknown callers blocked.  Mine goes into effect with the phone comp. tomorrow.
