2nd time in 2 days received a call from this # and no VM and do not know anyone from KY

I called it back from another number and it was Portfolio Recovery Associates.

Portfolio Recovery Associates is a scummy bottom feeder that attempts to collect on very old debts. They buy paper (debts) for pennies and attempt to collect more than full amounts from people via harassment, threats and sheer persistence, even going so far as to contact relatives and lie, harass and threaten them as well, until they give them whatever information they want. I've told them that I cannot pay them and have already lost my home due to my fall (broke my hip and shattered my ankle) and had my car repossessed, can only scrape by with what is left over after paying medical, and cannot find work...and these [***] still want to take what little I have, which is only what my elderly parents are generous enough to give me, besides the use of their spare bedroom and rides to rehab or clinic. PRA doesn't care that I am struggling and they refuse to accept that I have NOTHING left in the bank (don't even have a bank account any longer because they were charging me a monthly fee for low balance), even my girlfriend left (and I don't blame her, the meds and my disability make me unpleasant to be around sometimes). Screw PRA!

this is a debt collector usung multiple numbers . they will send you letters summons and still harass you. they are complete scum

Be careful.  They sued me over one of my debts.

Uh-huh...! If that's so, and if you lost the case, it's a 99% probability that the debt was time-barred & you lost because you failed to appear in court. That's what PRA does & when they lose a case they have an army of attorneys that will see to it that they will never pay a nickel on the millions of dollars they owe on the judgments against them. They are the scum of the earth & owe their existence to paid-for politicians, powerful lobbyists and shady attorneys.

I don't understand why you are not suing them for all the FDCPA violations.  Telling them that you won't pay should make them stop calling.  That is what the law says.  You could be collecting a nice big, fat check from them.  The great thing about it is that they have to also pay your attorney his fees as well, so most attorneys will take the case on a contingency basis and you don't have to put anything up front.

They call me several xs a day with different phone #s.  They dont answer back when I cll them and when they do they cannot tell me why they are calling.  Very lowlife and un profesional firm.

this is a debt collector who served me for 900$ credit card. they have multiple phone numbets, never leave messages and are sneaky scum

They "served" you?  Then you say they are suing you?  I certainly hope your attorney filed a counter suit for FDCPA violations, because I am sure they committed a whole slew of those.

The law says one thing but these companies do not care what the law says. They keep harassing you even with different numbers going against the law.

Received a text from this number stating "I'm at the movie theater" about 8:20 am. My guess is that they want you to reply with some sort of "Who is this?" text so they can trap your information. I didn't get calls like people are mentioning here, so be aware of this. I know no one in Kentucky or anyone with a phone based in Kentucky. Block and report the number. They are crafty and sly.

called early this morning trying to collect a debt that been close over 8 years, and I told them it's been closed , and they said they no, stated it's been filed with the county courts system, I ask them which court, and they couldn't answer me, they just said lets get this settled and for me to pay on it, and I told them to send me papers and they said they couldn't, so I said then take my ASS to court and quite calling me.....

Depending on the Statute of Limitations in your state, that threat may have been illegal.  I have already posted what you should do in this thread.  All you have to do is use the link and read and follow my post.
