The number listed 860-400-0775 is the call back number contained in the robot message. The Caller ID is nearly infinite, they rotate regularly. They caller id number often is a dead line, disconnected or not in service.
Definitely FRAUD and SCAM same rotating message different voice. The reference to her “office” and the “file on my desk” made me laugh.
Legal actions pending against TODAY!! Call back to another number include a case number otherwise your local officials will be contacted you’ll forfeit your rights ... you repeat offender ...
    BLAH Blah...
This is the 8th number they’ve called from this week, but in the messages contain the same call back number, Caller ID is useless since they are now hijacked and hacked by these (insert your own adjective).
It’s a repeat of the same scam that’s been rotating for years now ...

I keep getting these calls from 802-478-8036 but leave callback number of 860-400-0775. They have also called any relatives with numbers tied to me. When you call back it rings and someone says hello and wants your info. I’ve now blocked these calls.
    Here’s the voicemail transcript “

Been getting calls from this number both on my work and cell number. They state my name in the robotic voice stating they have cases pending in the office, etc. Number is bogus, and tired of blocking them and them spoofing another number and calling from that! this needs to stop

I got this call for a name I recognize but no longer know, so I blocked the number. I got the same call from a similar number a week later (guess they weren't too good a verifying "today" last week, huh?). This time I hit zero and waited on hold for someone. A lady answered and I said, "You keep calling for someone I don't know. Why are you calling me?" The lady paused and said the name on the recording. I said, "I don't know that person. Why are you calling me?" She hung up on me...How rude!! Maybe that means she will remove my number.

No one can take away your Rights because you didn't call back. Your most important Right is the Right to request a written Proof of Debt before giving them anything. Don't verify anything either, as they don't know your name/address until you actually verify it to them. Most of these scammers search the internet for anything they can  find to target a victim. Even if they 'seem to know' your info, its not verified unless you confirm it is you.

Its a vague scare tactic message designed to panic a victim into calling back. The empty threats are designed to fool you, so you believe someone is coming for you if you don't call back and fall for the scam.

Most debt collectors will use a certain amount of pressure to convince you to pay the debt. After all, they often don't get paid unless you pay. Be suspicious of a debt collector who uses an unusual amount of pressure to get you to pay immediately, particularly if they also use scare tactics to get you to pay right away. For example, a debt collector is scamming you if it :
    • threatens you with a lawsuit and tells that you can avoid the lawsuit by paying right away
    • Says a Process Server  or Courier is coming with papers to sign
    • Threatens to call / go to your place of employment
    • Insists you have been notified, served or are non-compliant via phone message(s)
    • Refuses to give a company name or verifiable Contact source
    • Refuses to send proof of debt via US mail

A sure sign of a debt collection scam is a collector that wants to you to pay via wire transfer or another method that can't be traced. If the payment method can't be traced, you'll have a harder time getting the authorities involved.

If the creditor sounds completely foreign, or you know you never had an account with that business, there's a chance it's a scam. Never pay a collection you don't recognize. You have the right to request written proof of the debt from the debt collector before you send payment.
