Robot voice told me that Social Security was discontinuing my number because there had been suspicious activity--All I had to do to learn more was press one.  I pretended to be another robot--told the robot I didn't understand what it was saying and they hung up--Figure it was a scam,

Definitely a scam. First of all, your Social Security number can't be suspended, cancelled, or discontinued. Second of all, the Social Security Administration doesn't initiate contact by phone but by US mail. Third of all, block and ignore such calls if you can.
