Bought a new phone two weeks .go and calls come in from Ford Motor Credit and WalMart.  I have talked to WalMart and they are not calling.  Not sure about Ford Motor Credit, I still get calls.  I am not the person they are looking for

daughter died these SOBS have been told this and never to call, they seem to enjoy asking for her, knowning she is dead. how can some one like this be so evil?

Called and left a message that it is about a debt.  They don't say whom they are calling and they do not identify themselves.  I have no idea but it is very upsetting.

They (Datatrac) called and left a message on my voicemail. Did not state who they were calling for (pfishing for a name) but stated it was in reference to an important business matter, but then near the end of the message stated they were a debt collection agency. Asked me to call back if the call was correct or in error (phishing) in order to correct their database. The other number referenced was 1-888-401-6042. I disregarded this call because all my debts are paid, I DO NOT respond to unsolicited messages, and I refuse to respond to any automated messages.

Keep getting calls from this number,  Not going to answer and my voicemail box is full.

I got calls from this number and last aa voice mail that was just a long elevator medley.  I kept at it till  I got a person's voice mail now you can call them back. 1 864- 328- 2200 and 698000 or 000. Of course they'll not answer but it's something.

just received a 5th call from them in the last 20 minutes and its all automated and music who are these morons

These people say they are from the IRS.

They were legit for me.  I had a past due medical bill that I had forgotten about and they had an address inconsistency that kept me from getting the bill.  They called.  I paid (it was only $65).  Problem solved.

Absolute BS: If you 'really' owed money they had a phone number. So you're telling us that all this time no one ever phoned you? Your mail was never returned to them? They never tried to correct the address error? You just 'happen' to search this number on 800 notes & post a comment? Move along shill!

If you're being hassled by a debt collector over the debt of a deceased family member, I want you to record the calls and then take those tapes to state or local authorities or to the media. The one thing that still works is shame, particularly when the collector is with a giant monster mega-bank.

In most cases, you have no legal obligation to assume the debt of a late spouse, sibling, or parent. But the collectors will never tell you that.

The only states where there is a possibility that a surviving spouse may have some responsibility for a debt are "community property states" -- Arizona, California, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

In such states, an executor/executrix or administrator (in the event there is no will) may be responsible for assessing the estate to see if there's money to pay out to creditors.

But in general, if you get a call from these slimeballs at a time when you're grieving like the Raybould family, know that you likely don't owe them a penny.

They left a message this afternoon that said they were Data Track calling about a debt. I called back and let it ring 15 times. No one answered.

They are a debt collector. Today I got a bill from them for a medical expense my dad incurred over a year ago. My dad died last year and I called the hospital about the bill when it came. They said I didn't have to pay it and they would "take care" of the bill. I guess this is how they take care of it, huh?

Oh yeah...they're open from 8:30 to 7:30 Mon thru Thurs, and 8:30 to 2:30 on Fridays. Makes it hard to reach them when that's about when I leave the house for work and get home.

I have received a call from phone number 864-328-2200 say they are a debt collector.  I know for a fact that I am not behind on any of my debts.

Answered and they said they needed to talk about a ‘business matter’ but needed my birthday to give any details. Seemed like BS and the lady seemed like she was reading from a script.
