Unknown caller from Pelzer, SC. Did not answer.

1-864-428-1490 called my mobile number (which is registered on the Do Not Call List) on 5-19-2018 at 11:41 AM.  I did not answer, they left no message.  I know no one from this area code.

Missed call from this number in Pelzer SC. Call back gets recording "welcome to Verizon wireless. the number you have dialed has either been changed or disconnected....." Another #@$%$%$#@ telemarketer.

Called my landline which Charter cuts off scam calls after one ring. One minute later, got a call from 844-747-3880. Obviously the same telemarketer.

When I looked up area code 844 I found this info:

Area code 844 is a future area code reserved for toll-free calls in which the calling party is not charged. Instead, the telephone carrier charges the cost of the call to the called party. Toll-free numbers, such as 844 numbers, have applications such as technical support, customer service, and personal use.”
THE COST OF THESE CALLS ARE PAID BY THE PARTY CALLED, NOT BY THE PARTY PLACING THE CALL!!

Well it is not.  844 operates just like every other 800 number that has been in existence for years.  Since that description is obviously way out of date, one should suspect the rest of the post as well.  See when reading things, it is best to use that thing between the ears to reason things out and to seek out more information when necessary to clarify.
