I read farther up or on another forum that it is illegal for them to contact a relative for a debt unless you are the legal guardian for that person.  If you file a complaint or get your own lawyer they will be fined either $1,000 or $10,000 for contacting a relative.  It's against the law.  I don't know that I would hide it from your mother.  What if she gets a call and decides to just pay without talking to you they could wipe out her bank account.  I think I would talk to her about it and see if she knows anything about a debt.  Maybe it's not her debt.

yeah these jack [***] called me today and wanted to know if I worked and how much money I made, which I did not answer. Then when I asked about a settlement he gave me an amount but wanted me to pay today. If i had the money to pay it I would have by now. I told them that 30 days would be the soonest I could settle it but first they needed to send me some documentation stating what the settlement amount was, since I didn't agree to pay it today he wouldnt send or fax the paperwork.

It isn't illegal a relative to pass a message, it is illegal to tell any other person the reason for the call without your permission.

J.A. Cambece collectors are a bunch of non-professional bullies that only know how to degrade and insult you.   They will never send proof of the debt but will tell you that you know you owe it.  They call you up and have 2-3 collectors listening in and they all jump in and start threatening you.  I can't wait until they close down and lose their jobs, so they can be harrassed by debt collectors.  What goes around comes around!

Just found out that J. A. Cambece Law Office pulled my credit report.  I guess I will be hearing from them soon.  I have done quite a bit of research on this outfit already and am quite sure they will some tough cookies.  I love cookies!  Especially with fava beans.  CHOMP, CHOMP!

I have documentation of every payment sent to this collection agency. They will deny that you made payments even when you have proof check was cashed by this company.....I say Class Action Lawsuit

You seriously think that if you setup a payment plan with a collection agency they are going to take payments from you for a year and then call you after 12 months and just act like you never made a single payment....
