Does not call.  Instead, this number appears as a text with opening sentence headlines such as the latest political gossip, (or just random gossip subjects), etc.  I don't open any of them.  I delete them for fear of viruses.  Then I did a little research and found that (866) is not only toll-free, but reverse charging.  In other words, I have to pay for their call or text.
Is this true?  Am I being charged just for receiving these messages-let alone whether I open them or not?  If so, how much am I being charged and where would I look in order to find out?

text messages from this number claim that I am a NRCC member. They claim "5 times match, support trump now!". Recently it's that my apparent membership "is about to" and now "has expired" to renew it and support trump. Spammers and scammers. They also periodically use slightly different phone numbers. But I got the last two from the same number about a half a week apart. They initially tried calls, but must have gave up and just went to texts.
