We actually received a LETTER in the mail with this number on it.  It is a "final notice" for a $250 Amazon gift card.  The letter reads, " Congratulations (name) Our Promotional Department shows that you have been scheduled to receive a $250 Amazon Gift Card!  This is a limited time offer.  Hurry! 1-866-204-0382 Offer Code: XXX-XXX-XX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX Monday-Friday 8am to 8pm Only one per household--for a limited time.  The front also says, "Please verify Delivery Information."  It looks like this is a scam...I can't find anything with Amazon that suggests this could be legitimate.  There are a LOT of Amazon Gift Card scams going on.

Take the letter AND envelope to the post office & forward it to the postal inspectors.

Hi Kay.  I received the same letter in the mail today.  I contacted Amazon via chat and they stated to disregard any mail because they only send information via email so it can be traced.

I called the number for a friend that received this promotion and found out it's a sales promotion for solar panels. When I called it appears that this was someone "onshore" meaning not a telemarketer in another country. The young lady told me that it's basically that they will have a rep for their company come to you, do a consultation and, whether you buy or not, you will receive the $250.00 Amazon Gift Card in 7 -14 days. What makes me think this is legit is that she was honest and pointed out the fine print of who the promotion was coming from Energy Informative dot org when I asked if this was from Amazon. Hope this helps.

Same here - this was sent to me today.  energyinformative.org on back of envelope - "This promotion is Reserved for Qualified Homeowners only."

The lady was nice I just asked her to take us off her mailing list

that they have your phone number and information they don't need to mail you anything.
