call comes in and a recorded message asks me to call to a third number to speak to some guy.  It sounds like debt collection.

Jimbob, I believe you are absoluetly right in regards to a debt collection agency. Be totally aware that another caller ID ph.# 1(877)-218-0169, which coincidentally also displays on caller ID as (800 Service) portrays itself as being a lending firm; ie, press 1 for a loan, press 2 for a car loan, etc. This auto dailer will leave a message for you to call yet another number. Because both numbers come up as 800-service I believe they are interconnected and one is just a ploy to get you to return a phone call. As you may know when you call a 1-800 number it defeats your attempt to block your phone number from being displayed and it shows up on their caller ID anyway. This is a goog thing to know! Be wary of these calls. If you return a call from these numbers do it from a pay phone.

We received two recorded phone calls from this company identified as Capital Management which started last week.  The message also stated that this is not a solicitation call and that this is in reference to an important business matter.  I finally called them back today. The lady answering the phone – after I was on hold for a few seconds – answered with Capital Management.  She explained that they are looking for a person and told me the person’s first name.  I told her there is no such person at this address and phone number.  She thanked me and that was the end of the conversation.  Let’s hope this is the end of their solicitation calls.

Received an automated message. I did not give these people my phone number or permission to call me.  Is there a $5,000.00 fine for receiving unsolicited calls in Kentucky?  A while back I put my name on a list that restricted unwanted calls.  

I called the number back and they supposedly were looking for someone named "Ciena" which of course did not have my number.  I've had my current number over 8 years. They did not apologize for the mistake.  In fact were rude and hung up in the middle of my sentence.

10806204-6140 calls...leaves no message....continuous calls. I have no outstanding debts....I am being harrassed by this so called NCO telephone number...I want it stopped

Left msg didn't say for who, but to call back a number. "It was an attempt to collect a debt,...." Didn't catch the name of the company.

Debt collection looking for someone that doesn't live at our #.  Told them and they were very apologetic and "took us off the system."

Received recorded call from Capital Management asking that I call back.  Since it's been happening daily for a couple weeks, which I'd been ignoring, I called back.  Left them a message asking to be taken off the list.  Within 5 minutes, some guy who said his name was "Larry" called asking for someone who doesn't live at this number.  I said there was nobody by that name here and asked why they'd been calling.  He said that if I wasn't this person, it was none of my business, then hung up.  A real class act.
