when i called the number back, they said they were capital management.

Got this call twice, the second time I didn't say anything and heard nothing, but as soon as I said hi, I heard the same recorded message as earlier about capital management, "this is not an inquiry" or something like that. Weird stuff.

Got ANOTHER call from the same number today! Unbelievable, these people won't stop.

I recicved a voice mail from them I called back they are collecting agency. I spoke with a woman who was EXTREMLY rude!!! I was nice to the woman, I tryd to be kind and I told her I would be able to start paying them In a couple weeks and told her why. She just went off on me and said I needed to pay now and then laughed at me saying she loves her job and that it was funny that she has to deal with people like me and so on.... Then told me that she was going to mark my account saying I refused to pay wich I never did, then she hung up on me, so I called back and asked for a supervisor who also began to treat me as if I where the scum of the earth. I was on the phone with him for a half hour trying to solve this, I want to pay my debt but I cant pay it until April first he too refused me as well as saying very derogatory things to me I could go on forever about all the mean and hatefull things he said to me I became so frustrated at the fact that I was calling to resovle my debt but all they seemed to want to do is tell me what a horrible person I am and refuse to set up a payment plan for me unless I paid that day. It made me sick I am just going to try and contact the company I origanly owed to see about paying them directly. I will not give this company a cent after the way I was treated ! They are the most rude, ignorant and hatefull people I have I ever come in contact with !!!!

They make you sit through another converstation they are having with someone else . Then they are rude to you when you get to talk to them . I'm out the door as we speak to go the local marine store . And buy an air horn . Not ... the little one either ! LOL
this way when they call me again and answer . It is they who will regret calling me !

I continue to get calls from 866-204-6143 - the callers identify themselves as capital management - they tell me that they are looking for someone with the same name but at a different address - I tell them that I am not the person they are looking for and they tell me they will remove my phone number from their list and will not call me again - then, they call me again - and when I go through the process all over again, they tell me that I've never called them before - I would like this to stop and I have told them so - I will need to sue them for harrasment if this continues -

Finally Called these CREEPS, TO GET MY PHONE NUMBER REMOVED FROM THEIR LIST. I GOT THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE JUST TO GET SOME RUDE JERK WAD, WHO YELLED AT ME AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT REMOVE MY NUMBER, CAUSE HE HAS THE POWER.

Arrogant people - second time I have called and asked to not be called and tell them they have the wrong person tied to my number on my cell phone.  We need to stop these people....  can't the government do anything???????

I received two calls. The first one (last week) I responded to and they said I had a bad debt and then when they asked my adress history it didn't match so they determined it was a different person. Note that when I returned their call, the person piocking up said "hello.... er...uh....Capital Management company" - rather suspicious.

Then I received another message today. Called back and got bounced around to voicemails. When I got a live person they asked if I was "Manuel". Then they suggested that I could speed things up by GIVING THEM MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. Hah - NOT.

When I chastised them for even asking the question, they said that I would not receive any more phone calls.

Sounds suspiciously like a scam to facilitate identity theft. Either that or they are incredibly incompetent.

Under no circumstances give out your social - legitimate bill collectors do not need that info. I would be extremely cautious with these guys.

Just get a Google voice number and forwarded it to your phone. It's free.  This way you can block any number you don't want to receive .

For your safety you must do the following:
1) As stated earlier from Paolo, get a Google voice number
2) From now on, never never never give out your real phone number to anyone except your wife, husband, significant other or children unless you plan to move and not tell them (just kidding)
3) Forward your Google voice number to your land line and/or cellphone.
4) Block any numbers you don't want to receive on Google Voice.
5) Start to live again

I got a few calls from these folks. It sounds like PLA ("phone losers of america") or similar -- they are pranksters. Google the name -- they make and record very similar calls, then post your reaction on the internet (usually getting hysterical over a bogus claim)

The best is probably not to engage them. If they get a "good" reaction you may end up on the internet -- or they may keep calling.

Glenn - It's great that you were savvy enough not to give them your social security number, but, were you aware that address history is a means used by the credit reporting agencies to help them ensure that they're not giving out your information to someone who isn't you?  Things have changed dramatically in the past few years.  It takes little more than a name associated with a phone number, or even just an email address, for identity thieves to find out all the information needed to take money directly out of your bank account. There's no foolproof way to keep someone from stealing your identity, but the best way to protect yourself is to NEVER answer calls if you're not 150% sure who is calling.  If, by accident, you happen to take a call from someone you don't know, NEVER, EVER give them any information, no matter how insignificant you may think it is.  Not meaning to lecture, just have been a victim.  It just never ends, they keep selling my information to eachother, setting off yet another massive attack...I wouldn't wish this nightmare on anyone.  :)
